Check Out Amy Siegler’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Siegler.

Hi Amy, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
LimbTech started in 2018 and saw their first patient in 2019. We started as a seating clinic and have expanded to an accessibility clinic. We for everything from DME, home remodels for accessibility, and assess for accessibility in the community. We started a Non-profit (Mobilitymattersfoundation.org) to help get kids Adaptive Bikes (which are not paid by insurance and range between $3k-$6K) and help with NC Medicaid that does not pay for therapy services for adults with private therapy companies. LimbTech is a for-profit, and Mobility Matters Foundation is a non-profit. We have expanded to 6 states meeting the needs in RURAL areas. We are expanding to 5 more states this year.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Reimbursement really impacts how much we make. It impacts us getting paid. People thing we made a ton of money because we are in healthcare, which is far from the truth. We also have to be credentialed with every insurance we take and licensed in every state.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in wheelchairs and accessibility/inclusion for everyone. We have grown to support rural communities in 6 states. I would love to get our name out about our foundation and continue to raise money to support our endeavors. Every kid deserves a bike- and families cannot afford adaptive bikes. And insurance does not pay for them.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Growing up in Alaska, I was able to experience the great outdoors. I love fishing and hunting. Fishing with my dad and family, which I now get to share with my children.

Pricing:

  • Bikes cost $3-5K and are not paid by insurance
