Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelica Renee

Hi Angelica, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story is something I hold near and dear to me. Very unexpected but nothing else makes sense now. Fashion has been a passion of mine since I was a young girl, very bratz inspired. I have always gone against the grain in what I’ve wanted to wear or what was defined as fashion. It gave me outlet to express myself when I couldn’t find the words to. Randomly, I decided I was going to try something new and go on a fashion stylist journey. No experience, no guidance, just fear and a dream. Lucky, my belief in myself is what’d taken me far; as well as the support of my peers. Not even two years ago, I decided to become a fashion stylist and educate myself. I am not a fashion influencer on social media as well as having now 3 fashion magazine publications. I thank God everyday that this is the journey I was decided to be put on to and can’t wait to continue the chapters of this beautiful story.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think life is full of only smooth roads. The bumps are what make the story worth telling. I struggled with lack of confidence, self doubt, and envy in a sense. With social media, its easy to get lost in others successes but it doesn’t mean that yours mean anything less. I had to learn that what I’m doing for ME is enough and that I have a longer road ahead

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a freelance fashion stylist, freelance model, creative directive and newly found event coordinator. I take pride in all that I do because its expressive and something I love. From styling others to myself. To modeling from a friend’s brand or working with bigger corporations. Or even filling a room with creatives so they can network and admire each other. Those are the things that make me, Angelica Renee. I specialize in art, no matter the form. Growing up in NY, our culture is so strong. Streetwear is the highlight of the city, and I fell in love. Its fitting to everyone and I think I’m the perfect embodiment of the style.

How do you define success?
Success in the dictionary term is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. To me, it is the drive to try something new. Whether it works out, putting yourself out there is an accomplishment in itself.
