Today we’d like to introduce you to Athina Mancia
Hi Athina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hey there! I’m a proud Honduran who made the big leap to the U.S. at 19, and let me tell you, it’s been an adventure! Growing up in the beautiful landscapes of Honduras gave me a unique perspective on life that I cherish every day.
Now, I’m a super mom to an amazing 9-year-old princess, and I like to think of myself as a unicorn – yes, a magical one! I juggle a colorful mix of passions and projects: I thrive in the tech world at an IT company in Raleigh, while also running my own fabulous jewelry line.
But that’s not all! I’m a social media whiz, sharing my life and inspirations across my platforms, and diving into the exciting world of network marketing. My interests span beauty, hair care, fitness, and I’m all about embracing the great outdoors!
Life is a beautiful blend of hustle and creativity, and I’m loving every moment of it!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is the language barrier. Understanding the humor can be tough, and I’m still learning!
Adjusting to a new culture has also been a big change for me. I’m figuring out new ways to do things every day.
And while I wouldn’t call it an obstacle, being a single mom has shaped me into who I am today. It’s been a journey, and I’m proud of it!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
One thing I’m really proud of is my willingness to try new things and learn. Right now, I’m focused on mastering social media management for other businesses. Many of them have great ideas but don’t have the time to manage their social media accounts.
It’s a lot of fun to create content, but it can also be a challenge. I need to help my clients find their own voice and style on social media, which is something I’m still learning to do. But I’m enjoying the journey!
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’d love to share a little taste of Honduras with your readers! If you’re in the Triangle area, there are so many amazing places to enjoy delicious food. I highly recommend trying (pollo con tajadas)– it’s crispy fried chicken served with fried plantains, and it’s simply irresistible!
Another must-try is (baleadas),which are soft flour tortillas filled with beans, cheese, and all sorts of tasty toppings. Trust me, these dishes will give you a true flavor of Honduras that you won’t want to miss!
