Hi Dean & Bristol, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hello! We are Dean and Bristol Benton, the dynamic husband and wife duo behind Magnolia Lane & Co. based out of Whiteville, NC, servicing Eastern NC – Columbus and surrounding counties. We both have had a passion for photography and creativity for quite some time.

Dean’s journey began in photography when he started taking photos of his oldest, Madison while playing sports. Bristol’s journey began after her son, Mason, was born. She never wants to miss a moment because, in the blink of an eye, her son is now 7, and her daughter is 2, realizing just how important photographs/memories are.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Of course, with any new endeavor, there will be hurdles to pass, but with a great support system and loyal clients – preservation wins. We are blessed to have met such wonderful families behind our cameras who are now our personal friends and family.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are hobbyist photographers who enjoy onsite natural light photography, including Wedding, Maternity, Children/Family, Fresh 48, Business Professionals, seniors, Special Occasions, and more. We offer an array of sessions. We believe that, throughout the chaos of life, beautiful memories lie waiting to be captured.

We strive to make each of our clients our personal friends and family. It’s always a great feeling to see our work framed/displayed and even used for other events. Weddings, showers, parties, or in our clients’ homes. It’s truly an honor and privilege to work with our clients and watch their families grow. A lot of our clients (friends/family) we photographed their Engagements/Weddings and now are photographing their maternity and family sessions.

We also strive to maintain a price point we feel is fair for everyone. We know how expensive photography sessions can be, and we know what is involved from behind the scenes, but we also believe in capturing the moment to last a lifetime, and everyone deserves the ability to have that at an affordable cost.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
We take pride in working closely with each person involved in the session. We want everyone to feel relaxed and comfortable. We want to make sure your expectations are met, and you are satisfied with the upcoming outcome.

Bristol works countless hours editing to achieve the best style and image. While we are just hobbyist photographers, currently, we’d love to make our dreams and passion a reality by pursuing photography full-time when the Lord sees fit. Until then, we will wait and watch as our dream unfolds, and we hope you will become family along the way of our journey.

When we are not behind a camera or editing, we love to spend time outdoors – camping, hiking, and canoeing. While also spending time with our blended family and sweet pup, Magnolia.

• Our specialty sessions begin at $175.00 plus, and they include cake smash sessions, maternity, milestones, and more.
• Senior Sessions begin at $250.00
