Check Out Deanna Barnes’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deanna Barnes

Hi Deanna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
4 years ago I went through unexpected life changes and it caused me anxiety and depression to a level I’ve never experienced. Through these life-changing experiences, I put my trust in God and reached out for help. I began to go to therapy and was open to the journey of getting back to “me”. I began to journal, document my progress, and turn my hobby into a business plan. Through my journey I have found my love for blogging, creating and designing, and natural skin care. I began to make my own Turmeric soap at home and my friends would tell me you should sell this.I started selling my face wash and developed a Yoni wash and face toner. While trying to expand my social media brand, I enjoyed blogging and creating content. The business is going through a pivot season and rebranding but I continue to vlog, create, and build my business platform on social media.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This has not been an easy road. I’ve had times of self-doubt and defeat. Right now, I’m going through a pivot season and rebranding. But I’m not giving up on the business, and the mission is to support others, so I can’t let the challenge defeat the purpose of the business.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My professional career is another thing I’m proud of. As a Winston-Salem State Alumni, I working in Public Education for 10 years. Now I work in Behavioral Health and they are both rewarding careers to support our youth. Even though I don’t work in the school system. I still offer private tutoring services. Also in my new career, I’m an Autism advocate and supporting families with the evaluation process and support through their journey.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
