Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace Schupp.
Hi Grace, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a creative designer, lover of a good story, and passionate businesswoman who works with women who have gotten all of the fancy business tools but are not where they want to be in their business. I help them discover that connecting with their ideal customer is not only attainable but also doable without jumping through countless hoops.
I have helped many women make subtle adjustments in their businesses to make lasting changes that help them to not only have a business that tells their story reaches their ideal client but to also show up as the ideal person to meet their clients’ needs.
The thing is, being an entrepreneur and figuring out who you are personally and as a business can be challenging. I know because that is my story! It wasn’t that long ago that I left my full-time job to be an entrepreneur. I loved graphic design and wanted to jump into designing full-time. I took a contractor job at a branding agency and planned on working there while I built my business on the side. The job I was hired for wrapped up, and my contract ended sooner than I had planned, so I launched full-time into my own business. The first few years were basically survival mode. I was taking any design job I could and marketing my business as I had time. One morning, I was feeling particularly tired and frustrated with the lack of progress I had made in my business. I decided right then and there that something had to change… well, more of a whole host of things!
I spent time digging into what a brand truly is, and it is so much more than just a logo! I would love to tell you that I only had to tweak a few things in my business as a result of this newfound knowledge. But in all honesty, I realized everything had to change. This new concept totally revolutionized the way I approached my business brand and as a result, my customers. After this discovery, the doors flew open with ideas and avenues for me to help business owners.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has not been easy. I have struggled with working long hours only to not see any benefit for the time invested. I have struggled with showing up. I even struggled with burnout!
When I hit burnout, I knew something had to change.
Not only did my story change, but the way that I approached business changed. I had to learn who I was as a business owner and dig deep, which wasn’t easy. As an introvert, I have always been the type to keep my personal life and business separate. Not only does that not work in our culture today, it also made me totally unrelatable to the business owners that I cared so much for. I had to learn to truly share my heart. No one knows how much you care until you show it!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a business brand coach and graphic designer. I specialize in offering business brand solutions for female entrepreneurs. While many graphic designers focus on the ascetics of the brand, I focus on the brand story. The story is where everything grows. It is what shapes the business, from the motivation to what services or products you offer. I love coaching women through their brand story development and how it they can operate from that heart-centered business approach.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I love seeing women stepping into their dreams and passions. When women flourish, that joy and growth trickle down into the lives of their friends and family. The effect is contagious and makes a lasting difference. That’s why I am passionate about what I do. It is not a run-of-the-mill coaching assignment for me; it is creating life change for the better.
