Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Harmon.
Hi Hannah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always had a love for photos. This obsession started when I was a child and I would go over to my grandparents’ house and pull out all the old photo albums. I loved listening to the stories that my grandparents would tell about all the photos. The way they could go back to a moment in time just by looking at one image truly amazed me.
When I was 12 I got a little pink film camera for my birthday and started taking pictures of everything. I was able to upgrade my camera when I turned 16 and I started doing senior sessions, some wedding and family sessions. I was mostly a hobby photographer until 2018 when my first son was born and I had the opportunity to stay home with him. About a month after he was born I started to pursue my photography more professionally. Over the past couple of years, I have been so inspired by my great grandfather. He carried around a camera for most of his life documenting his life and all those around him. Most of the pictures in those old photo albums that I love so much were taken by him. My grandparents truly blessed me with a love for photos and I love sharing that with others.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been a challenge to raise my boys and build a business. They have had to tag along for a photoshoot or two but we have made the best of it. Sometimes it feels like I have too much going on but I really do it all for my boys. I want them to see me chasing my dreams and passions and know that they can do the same thing.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a wedding and lifestyle photographer. I love capturing all of life’s big or small moments and growing with my clients during all of their milestones. The client experience is one of my main focuses and the relationship that I create with clients really sets me apart. I really try to create a space where they feel so comfortable that I can capture real emotion and authentic moments. The fact that people point out how natural my clients look in photos is really one of the things that I am most proud of.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I have learned so many important lessons during this time. One of the biggest things that Covid- 19 taught me and many others is to slow down and appreciate the everyday little things.
