Today we’d like to introduce you to Jackie Harsh
Hi Jackie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
During my time in the corporate world, I was constantly navigating long hours, high stress, and limited recognition. When I became pregnant with my second daughter, it prompted a significant shift in my career path. I realized I wanted to pursue something that would not only allow me to spend more time with my family but also bring joy to others—without all the corporate hurdles. I was drawn to the concept of self-care, something I craved deeply as a mother of two. I began creating my own bath bombs, and after months of perfecting the process, I launched my business with a simple goal: to help others unwind and embrace relaxation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth. One aspect of running a small business that often gets overlooked is that, most of the time, it’s just one person wearing all the hats—handling marketing, social media, shipping, customer service, production, and everything in between. There are definitely highs, like the excitement of new orders, creating custom products, prepping for markets, and meeting amazing people. But there are also challenging moments: slow sales, a market that doesn’t go well, creative blocks, or simply feeling drained from trying to manage it all on my own.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in crafting bath products like bath bombs, shower steamers, and bath crayons. When I first started, my bath bombs were simple and round, which was fine, but I wanted to bring more fun into self-care for people of all ages. That’s when I began researching and experimenting with unique molds—everything from apples and pumpkins to unicorns and trucks. When people see my products at markets, they’re often surprised to learn that I handmake and handpaint every single item. For me, the process itself is a form of self-care.
Now, after years of attending in-person markets, I’ve built a following. People recognize me for my “build-your-own” bath bomb station, paint-your-own kits, and distinct branding. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that all the hard work I put into even the smallest details, like branding and labeling, is being remembered. I take pride in being a trusted brand, even if it’s a small one, that people feel good about using for themselves and their kids. What really sets me apart is off
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Networking has been crucial to the growth of my business. Attending markets has given me the chance to meet new people and gain inspiration from others—whether it’s ideas for improving my booth setup, refining my labels, or just seeing what works for others. But what matters most is being authentic. I approach every conversation as if I’m talking to an old friend, and I’m always honest when answering questions. My goal isn’t just to make a sale; I want to help people build a meaningful self-care routine and create a relationship built on trust.
