Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaclyn Auletta.
Jaclyn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been a fan of photography but I did not begin with photographing people. I loved landscapes, cityscapes, and macro photography. It wasn’t until I went to college that one of my professors encouraged me to photograph people in New York for a project and I’ve never looked back! While I loved photographing people, weddings were not on my radar. Then I was asked to photograph my brother’s friend’s wedding and decided to dive deep into the world of wedding photography and I’m so glad I did.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Photography has always been about pursuing what I love so the road to make it wasn’t hard per se. The hardest part of it all is comparing yourself to others. It can be so difficult not to compare your work to others but knowing that I’m challenging myself, creating my own space, and am able to do what I love keeps me going.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a natural light photographer who specializes in weddings. As a photographer, my goal is to provide an experience for my clients that makes them feel confident, have fun and be excited to relive and share their favorite moments with family and friends for years to come. I am so happy and proud that I’m able to do this while having loving and happy clients and as of 2021, able to do it full time! Developing trust with my couples before the wedding day sets me apart from others as there are so many who simply show up, take pictures and leave. Getting to know my couples is the key to making the wedding photography experience great.
