Check Out James B. Boggs’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to James B. Boggs.

Hi James B., please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Love for music since extremely early age.
Exposed to many genres by age 12.
Sound Effects in movies and Story books and Records were a huge part of my youth.
I called the radio station in second grade over the summer and won an album by singing the radio theme song.
I started making mixed tapes at age of 13.
I was deejaying school dances by 15.. Learned to cut tape at 16.
Landed first club gig at 17.
Held job in mastering department at AMI before working college radio and newspaper.
Trained in the art of mixing by radio mix shows hosted Bradley D. Hinkle of Ultimix Records and Wax Master Torey along with DJ Sound Machine of 88.1 WKNC out of Raleigh.
Collected the earliest forms of Hip Hop, House Music and imported techno. Years earlier in middle school I had already
made my mind of that I was going to have my name on a record.
To date my name has now appeared on more than 100 different records around the world.
I am truly grateful and honored to have had that happen.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Passion was and still remains the key. If and when any struggles occurred it simply was due to letting things stand in the way of that passion.
I would be telling a lie if I said the industry or self discipline were a primrose path.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love music, I promote music, I write music, I play music, I encourage others… With the medium of music, I manufacture, promote, distribute music. Compact disc, cassettes, and phonogragh records all are a part of my discography. I have been solely responsible for breaking artists, on the underground in the dance community. Networked throughout the United States and in quite a few countries.
Founded Hoodwink Records and Carocell Music in the mid 1990’s and performed in more cities I can remember.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Desire
Perseverance & the relentless drive to never be beaten down by anything that comes your way.
