Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylin La’She.
Hi Kaylin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello all,
My name is Kaylin La’She and I am from Raleigh, NC. I have always felt like my purpose is much greater than where I was, where I am and I know that I am headed for just that, greatness. I grew up in pageantry, attended modeling and acting agencies. I always knew that I wanted to be in that exact industry someway, somehow. The modeling and acting industry was not always working out in my best favor so I decided to try other routes that could potentially get my foot into the door, leading me to be amongst all the greats. I attended NCCU my freshmen year of college and fashion has also always been a passion of mine so I decided to major in that career field which taught me how to sew. My grandmother passed down her old sewing machine and I have been knowledgeable in the field ever since. I also decided to start my own business with lash extensions as a sophomore in college to help me financially through school and later ventured off into makeup. I am currently in school for Esthetics and plan to open multiple businesses that provide and services skin and beauty essentials for others. Kaylin La’She Aesthetics is my brand and I continue to expand into a lot more than just lash extensions, makeup, beauty tools and products. I am also in the process of launching my own swimwear, (shout out to my country Trinidad and Tobago) custom handmade Caribbean carnival wear handbags and accessories line in June 2022.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road at all but I appreciate the lessons that this life has taught me thus far, it has molded me into the woman that I am and plan to be. When you are born to be great, there will always be things that try to stop you. But most importantly, I took the time to do shadow, deep spiritual inner work to heal myself to gain the peace that I have now. The healing journey is never ending, but it is the most rewarding. I know that I can do all things through Christ and He is where I get all my strength from. Building and maintaining a consistent relationship with God has been the force to me entire being and purpose.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently the owner of an Esthetics and Makeup business where I plan to expand into different services soon like waxing, threading, brow sculpting, and facials but I currently provide services such as eyelash extensions, makeup.
I also model and act and want to help others with the same dreams as such one day.
As stated before, I am into fashion, design and styling and I have worked alongside Charity Washington at Captivate in Charlotte at Southpark Mall. My current fashion/swim wear line is called Kaylin La’She Label which I strive to bring exclusivity, creativity and individuality through my brand to my customers.
I believe that my drive to be the best that I can be and to keep going against adversity and my creative aspects sets me apart from most. I am honestly blessed in ways sometimes that appear to be overwhelming at times but I am most proud of the drive that I have within me to never let anyone come between my vision and goals in life and to keep going even when I feel like giving up. I have been rewarded greatly with this heart of mine.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I am born and raised in Raleigh and the things I like the most about it is the opportunities that have presented themselves to me that has allowed me to grow and reach my fullest potential. Such as school and college at NCCU where I studied fashion and design\ during my freshmen year, teaching me how to sew. I believe that Raleigh has so much talent and ability to be bigger than what it is now and the thing that I like the least about it is that there is not as much opportunity here that it should be, being that it is the state’s capital. I honestly have contemplated so many times to leave this city behind, which is one of the main reasons I decided to attend UNC Charlotte because I knew I would be able to network better out there and that is exactly what I did and brought it back to Raleigh. I know Raleigh will grow within the next 3-5 years and I plan to add and be a part of my city’s growth.
