Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristyna Daye
Hi Kristyna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a big love relationship with food. Especially food of different cultures! I grew up eating all types of cuisines. I love trying new food, I will try ALMOST anything once.
I started just taking pictures of my meals & posting on my personal page.. then I realized I wanted to have my personal life & food life separate. That’s when Tastybuds was born. Now not only do I showcase the food I cook, eat and feed my family but I also have the privilege and amazing opportunity to create content for other restaurants & bars… and I LOVE IT. I love networking with other foodies! I love meeting the chefs and behind the scenes crew in restaurants & hearing their stories.
As a mom & full time employee, it feels great to do something I’m passionate about, that I truly enjoy and it pours back into me! 🙂
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been fairly smooth honestly. I keep reminding myself I’m doing this for ME. Because it makes ME happy. I don’t do it for the money, although it is nice to get compensated for my time & efforts. Networking has helped tremendously. There’s a great foodie network in RDU and I’m so thankful to have that support & to support them in return.
I’ve really enjoyed my journey thus far…
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
In my professional life I am a nurse supervisor! I’ve been a nurse for 8 years & it’s the most rewarding career! I’ve worked with every age group of people, through really sad times & really happy times. I love what I do! I’m very thorough & intentional which I think plays a big part in my foodie venture as well.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
So many! Most importantly, to not take a single thing for granted. Not my house, career, family, friends, health, ect.
To live in the moment. To really appreciate everything you have while you have it!
