Today we’d like to introduce you to Laylaa X

Hi Laylaa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am originally from Cicero, NY. It was a pretty small city where most people knew each other from grade school to college. Being Egyption in a predominantly white area I always felt it was difficult to fit in. I went to Le Moyne College for Biology which lead me to work as a microbiologist in pathogen labs. The work was robotic and I felt like I had more to contribute to life than that. I was pushed in the direction of science ever since I was little, and was never encouraged to be creative.
This caused me to have anxiety early on in my life. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety in middle school. Pushing through these conditions I learned I was a natural born leader. I loved student government, event planning, and everything inbetween. My family never encouraged me to do the things I was good at but instead insisted I should follow the path they had in mind. Being surrounded by people that weren’t like me and having a family pushing me to be like others made this aspect of my life challenging.
After Covid shut us down in NY for years, I just felt like so much of my life has been contained. I needed to make a change. In 2023 I moved to Charlotte NC. It was scary but I loved the city. There I met knew people and had new experiences. I signed with Ija’ney Paradise Models in August and met some new mentors. These mentors were people who encouraged me to be myself with no limitations. As someone who has always tried to hide, it felt so good to just be myself. Charlotte was a great place to start but it wasn’t quite where I needed to be. In January 2024 I moved to Raleigh where there were a couple more familiar faces and it felt like home. This city is full of people my age trying to network, work hard but also play hard.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Everyday is still full of challenges. Even though they aren’t external anymore, they’re still internal. I’m learning about shadow work and internal motivation. Choosing to be positive every single day even if that means I need to wake up early blast affrimations and do some form of exercise. My day to day is full of perseverance when I am in a positive mindset. It’s about waking up everyday and choosing to have a good day, ignoring all limiting beliefs and fighting them with all the wonderful possibilities.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Currently I am taking a marketing and e-commerce course to learn how to market myself and other brands. I truly enjoy the creativity that I can show with digital art. I also make a lot of money through Instagram and other social media through content creation.
Latly I have been doing some consulting with other online models and content creators to show them ways they can improve and also make money online.
Since I’ve been in undergrad I have also performed in nightclubs and also promoting for these clubs. The flexibility in schedule, unlimited opportunities, and also the joy I bring to people keeps me motivated. Providing entertainment in 10+ clubs has given me valuable knowledge. I’m working on a video course to help others navigate through that world as well.
In 2024 I’ve done things I never thought I could like shooting for my first magazine, talking about my experiences, and guiding others. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come and I’m so excited for everything coming.

What matters most to you? Why?
Making others happy and inspiring their inner motivation. This is important to me because it creates a positive environment and enhances the overall well-being of society. When I bring joy to others, it creates a ripple effect, encouraging a culture of kindness and support. This positivity not only strengthens my relationships but also builds a sense of community and belonging. Empowering individuals to pursue their goals with passion and confidence is what truly makes my world go round. It ignites a drive in me that leads to personal growth and achievement, contributing to a more fulfilled and purposeful life.
