Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Corbett.
Hi Lindsay, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I quit my full-time job as a nurse practice manager with UNC physicians’ network in April of 2020 to become a stay-at-home mom. I am mother to two beautiful children ages 8 and 6. When I came home, I felt a strong calling to write and share my story. The majority of my story was highlighting my journey to becoming a mother. My story is an emotional rollercoaster consisting of loss, grief, shock, and even despair at times. As I wrote my story, I felt freedom almost instantly. I signed a contract in October of 2020 with a publishing company called Trilogy Christian Publishing (a subsidiary of Trinity Broadcasting Network- TBN). I published my first book; Gospel Glitter: learning to shine in the darkness on April 7th, 2021. When I made the choice to walk away from an amazing career to begin a journey as a stay-at-home mom, I had no idea I would become a published author so quickly. I believe God gave me an opportunity to share my story with the world because if it had not been for God’s word or my faith through Him, I wouldn’t be here today. Life can be overwhelmingly hard at times. I believe my story can help give others hope and encouragement to keep going. Since my book was published, I have been able to speak to many different audiences and share this light with the world. My book is available on most online platforms such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Target, Christianbookstore.com, and more.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My story in itself was absolutely a struggle but the process of publishing that story has been nothing short of a divine appointment. I submitted an application of interest with a publishing company and only days later did they request more information and an official manuscript. I had to find time to write while taking care of my two children, one of which has special needs. I wouldn’t say it hasn’t been a lot of hard work and time management but it has been a joy to walk in this calling that God designed for me before I was even born. I love getting to share my story with anyone but especially with women who have experienced infertility, loss, and parents of special needs children.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love writing and being an inspirational speaker. I love taking my book as an icebreaker and allowing it to open doors of opportunity to share the Gospel with anyone. I have spoken at women’s events, churches, schools, and even local television programs. I have other books in the process. I love to inspire creativity in others as I share my story. I encourage others to share their stories as well. We all have a story and we are not alone in our suffering or pain. We just have to be willing to share it.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see more books published and even a children’s book. I also see many more opportunities to speak publicly and give inspiration and encouragement to many different audiences. I desire to have a nonprofit organization/ministry that can fund many different missions. I would love to give proceeds to benefit the rescue of human trafficked victims, funds for the special needs population, and funds to give women the ability to choose life even in unwanted pregnancies. I have a dream to see women delivered from emotional bondage and healed physically and emotionally. I know that God healed me so I know He can do it for others as well.
