Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Strickland.
Hi Lindsey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Mariquita and I met through our mutual bestie Kate, we saw our first movie together on June 18th, 2023! The first film we ever saw together was Past Lives. Since then, we’ve watched over 90 movies together ranging from at home, in theater, in film classes, and at movie parties. Our shared love of movies left us in theater parking lots for hours just chatting away. Last Summer, as two film girlies do, we had the brilliant idea to start a podcast!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We had a very rocky start once we started recording. Our first sessions were done at a shared studio; it was a very interesting experience, but it let us build resilience and get a feel for our journey ahead!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Outside of our podcast work, I work as a Horticulturist. I have a huge love for plants, nature, and the outdoors. I am most proud of my intentionality and dedication to breaking down the capitalistic origins of American Horticulture and making myself aware/holding accountability for the colonial ties while still appreciating its craft.
