Check Out Luciana Galucci’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luciana Galucci.

Hi Luciana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My history in photography started back in 2012, when I was studying web design as a college student in the San Francisco Bay Area. I enrolled myself in digital photography classes which I fell in love with right away. After trying different areas of photography, I decided to specialize in Family Photography. I had the opportunity to photograph my first paid client and since then, I’ve known that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The beginning of my career in photography was not easy for sure. One of the biggest obstacles I had was the inability to invest more time in the business growth – my twins were just one year old at that time and on top of that, I had a full-time job in a Silicon Valley Startup – that left me only weekday evenings to attend college classes and weekends to photograph clients. My husband helped with the babies while I away.

I could easily list many struggles I’ve been through during my journey to become a professional photographer and I would be lying if I say that I never ever thought about giving up – yes, I did, several times at the beginning! However, during these hard moments, I always tried to remember that struggle is what happens in the gap between where we are and where we want to be and I knew that I wanted to be a photographer…

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a lifestyle photographer specializing in Newborn, Maternity and Family Photography based in Cary, NC. Beyond photography, I am passionate about the arts and inspired by what is beautiful in this World. I love being outdoors photographing and spending time with my family and friends, getting lost in home organization projects, watching my children playing sports, traveling, wine, I just love living life!

Sometimes it is hard to believe that I was an IT professional in a previous life! I am so incredibly grateful that I found a way to express my artistic talent and somehow to be part of meaningful moments in people’s lives. I enjoy meeting new people everyday and tell the World their stories as I see through my camera lens. I love the freedom that photography gives me, my office could be anywhere and anytime, one day it could be a park, a beach, a lake, a house, a studio… It’s just amazing the versatility that I found in photography.

I love the wild energy of a photo session with multiple kids running around and also the softness of photographing couples expecting their first baby…

Natural and timeless are the words I would describe my photography style. Clients have told me that sessions with me are fun and easy, and that’s exactly what I aim for. My goal for each session is to create pure images that stay true to my client’s life.

How do you define success?
Never give up! Persistence and Patience are my two key words for success.
