Hi Matthew & Keisha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Whisperin’ Pines is a Classic Country Singing Duo formed in 2024 by married couple Matthew & Keisha James. Their slogan is “The World Needs Another Johnny & June”. Singing kareoke was their favorite thing to do, which is where they met. Soon after, they started dating and performing duets quickly realizing that it came natural and the crowd was always encouraging them to take their talents further. They put their heads together and decided to form Whisperin’ Pines. They had no idea where it would take them, they simply love singing together, love to have a good time and wanted to share that.
Local venues who knew the couple, gave them a chance. After performing their first few shows, Whisperin’ Pines quickly made a name for themselves performing 130 shows all over the Piedmont, Triad and Foothills in their 1st year. Still in their second year, they have performed over 250 shows and not slowing down.
Whisperin’ Pines is more than just singing your favorite Classic Country hits. They are Country at its core. Attending one of their shows, you are sure to have a good time full of laughter, dancing, crowds singing along and strangers becoming friends. The world truly needs another Johnny & June.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest obstacle anyone must overcome is themselves. Finding the confidence to put yourself out there is always a struggle. Some days can be more difficult than others. Some days, your voice is overworked and scratchy, you may have a lack of energy or just struggle with anxiety. Thankfully, the crowd is always encouraging, reassuring and quickly reminds us why we are there.
