Today we’d like to introduce you to Miguel Pineda.
Hi Miguel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started at the University of Arizona studying business until I came to the conclusion that I was studying something that I did not like or enjoy learning.
I decided to take a semester off and once ready back to study I went to Pima Community College, graduated with an Associates in studying film. I then went back to the University of Arizona to get a bachelor’s in Film and Telesivion.
To now working as a full time 1st AC in the industry.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Working a part-time job and In-N-Out burger to pay all my community college and university bills that were about to put me in debt. While studying and working I was still attempting to land any job in industry to get more experience on set.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in being a first assistant camera; any settings or tools that need to be attached to the camera fall into my responsibilities. What sets me apart is that in my free time I am a total fanatic about all the gear that I own; constantly looking up ways on how to improve the gear and know how to troubleshoot in numerous ways.
