Check Out Milton Saul’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Milton Saul.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Milton Saul: Actor, Owner of Mattieu Ethan I AM ME. Apparel and Retired Captain with New York City. Dept. of Corrections

I am Milton Saul, a man of many talents and passions. Growing up in the Bronx, New York City, I was always inspired by the art of fashion, music, and entertainment. My mother instilled in me the value of hard work and dedication, which has stayed with me throughout my life.

I began my career in law enforcement and served as a Captain with the NYC Department of Corrections for over 22 years. During my tenure, I was assigned to various roles, including Rikers Island, one of the country’s most notorious jails. I was responsible for enforcing daily department operations, policies, and procedures, performing investigative duties, and supervising officers and inmates. I also took college courses at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where I studied correction law and police science. Throughout my career, I received awards and honors, including Excellent Duty for my heroic efforts following the World Trade Center Disaster. While I am proud of the services I provided to the City and State of New York and the men and women I had the honor to work with, I knew deep down there was something more I wanted to achieve.

I embarked on my journey and created my fashion apparel brand, MATTIEU ETHAN I AM ME, named after my son. The brand’s logo bears a footprint that represents his existence, and the slogan “I AM ME” is the cornerstone of the company. My vision was to bring awareness to social issues that affect many around the world and to signify individuality, self-awareness, and innovation.

The company has participated in various fashion shows and charitable events, including Autism Speaks, At Risk Youths, Domestic Violence, and Cancer Awareness. We even fed the homeless at the Atlanta Missions in Atlanta, where I helped serve meals alongside Music Producer Teddy Riley, Music Exec Shanti Das, and Actress Keisha Knight Pulliiam. The MATTIEU ETHAN I AM ME brand gained momentum and received awards for its fashion and charitable contributions. We were selected as a brand sponsor on a Nascar Car/Stock Car as well as the apparel for Pageants Shows for charity causes. Celebrities, public figures, and charitable organizations supported our mission, and I am proud of the impact we have made.

I have also been invited to speak at public events, including schools in my local community, where I share the importance of education and avoiding incarceration. I was a guest speaker at the Stop Domestic Violence Brunch held at SOBs in NYC, sharing the stage with Michel’le, Roxanne Shante, Jamie Foster Brown, and others. Unaware of the impact that my message had on others, I was approached by a podcaster who suggested that I start my own talk show. While I did not see it in my future at the time, my dreams soon took me in a new direction.

As I relocated to Atlanta, I continued pursuing my dream of becoming an actor. Acting had always been a passion of mine, and I was determined to explore this newfound interest. In Atlanta, I was fortunate enough to be given an opportunity by Kenya Moore, one of the stars of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” to play the role of a pastor in her new TV pilot, “Life Twirls On.” This was my first step into the world of acting, and I never looked back.

I began learning the craft of acting and taking acting classes, studying at the Professional Actors Studio, the Audition Rockstar Academy course, and various acting workshops in both New York and Atlanta. I wanted to learn from the best and give my all to this new challenge. Since then, I’ve been privileged to work in many films and television shows, including some of the world’s most famous movies such as “Black Panther 1,” “The Tomorrow War,” “Behind the Movement,” “Prisoner of Love,” “ABOUT HIM. The Other Side,” and “Consequences,” which is currently filming in Durham, NC, to name a few. Being an actor has been one of my greatest challenges and achievements. I love becoming a character who tells a story, living in the moment that allows the viewer to relate to the character and immerse themselves in the scene. Acting has allowed me to tap into my creative side, creative thoughts, my life experiences, and skills. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my performance on the big screen and television.

My ultimate goal is to use my platform in acting, my fashion apparel brand, and law enforcement experience to help others follow their dreams and believe in themselves. I want to continue reaching a global audience and giving back to my community. I’m proud of my achievements and the recognition I have received for my work in all aspects of my life. Still, my journey is far from over, and I’m excited to see where it takes me next.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve had my share of bumps in the road. Having a work schedule that involves 16 hours a day, sometimes working on holidays and missing family birthdays and special occasions. With a hectic work schedule and meeting deadlines, you have to find a balance between work and family.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an Actor; I have been blessed to work on some great films and television shows. I am constantly learning from other talented actors, teachers, and coaches. I read books that helps gives insight on enhancing your career and improving your skills.

Prior to acting, I worked in Law Enforcement with NYC Department of Corrections. I retired in the rank of Captain.

I own a clothing company called Mattieu Ethan. I AM ME. The brand was created with a purpose to bring awareness to social issues, but we also create some beautiful and meaningful apparel.

I am known for some of the many films I appeared in and also my clothing company.

I would say my specialty is Law Enforcement; I have the longest career in that field.

I am proud of all my accomplishments, but I am mostly proud of my Family for believing in me and standing with me through the tough times. Having a strong support base is what helps my drive and passion to do what I love.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most may be surprised to know that I had a prior career in law enforcement…
