Check Out Pilar Morrison’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pilar Morrison.

Pilar Morrison

Hi Pilar, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I was born and raised in New York, so the bodega has always been a special place for me. Growing up and going to school there, we will always go to the bodega for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. So, when I decided to start the new bodega, it made sense to incorporate what I grew up around into my business.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road, lol. It takes a lot of energy, mentally, physically, and emotionally, to start a business, especially from the ground up. I think my biggest struggles were getting my website done and marketing. Trying to gain a following while trying to build my company is not easy or for the weak.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am actually a chef. I started culinary bacon and pastry arts in a private culinary school here in North Carolina. Which led me to work at some of the upscale restaurants in the RDU in New York City area. I am known for creating eye-catching dishes. I am most proud of the experience. I’ve been able to gain in the people that I’ve been able to meet throughout my career. And I know my passion and creativity combined is what sets me apart from others.

We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
I’ve always been the kind of person to view life as take risk and live with no regrets as opposed to living with regrets because you took no risks. I won’t lie to you and say that sometimes they use risk don’t always work out, but that the joy of learning and taking risks.
