Check Out Rebecca Huddleston’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Huddleston.

Hi Rebecca, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was first drawn to photography when I was in high school. My parents bought me my fist camera as a graduation gift when I was a senior. I started taking pictures of my friends who are graduating or my friends going to prom and things like that. Eventually, I got involved with someone else who was doing photography and really looked up to her, I was able to Second shoot a few weddings with her and really get my feet wet in the Wedding Photography realm. I went off to college in Greenville, South Carolina and continued to do a little photography while I was in school and that’s when my business started to grow a little bit and then moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, and my business continued to grow with families who were vacationing at the beach along with beach weddings, and coastal weddings. I recently moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, and I’m continuing to grow my photography business. I love, shooting, weddings, seniors, families, newborns, and lifestyle photography.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. I struggled a lot with comparing myself to other people comparing myself to people who had only been in the business for a year or two who seemingly were better at it than I was. I get intimidated when I am looking on social media I try to stay off social media as much as I can as far as photography goes because although I getting inspiration from other people and supporting them, it can become a self doubting place if I’m not careful. But I always think back about how people react to my photos and when I’m doing my photos I love what I see. I love seeing people smile, and I love people hanging up my pictures on the wall and I love making memories that will last forever. I feel like I have gotten to the point where I know what I’m doing. I know the skill level that I have and I’m confident in my ability to provide my clients exactly what they want and need while still giving them a fun and friendly experience.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional photographer. I specialize in weddings and portraits. Whether that’s family portraits, seniors, newborns, or lifestyle photography, I love it all. But I really find my passion and joy in Wedding Photography. I love hearing about couples love stories and how they met, how long they’ve been together, and really just bringing their wedding day to life. I think what sets me apart and what I’m most proud of is that I create a personal experience for all my clients. I see this not only as a business partnership, but also as a friendship. I like following my clients on social media and seeing what is happening in their lives. I like talking to them during their appointments and getting to know them more so that I can bring their personality through in their pictures. I just want to be their photographer bestie. I’m really good about paying attention to details where placement of hands need to be where your feet need to be all those tiny things that you might not think about or that you might be nervous about I like to just ease those nerves and guide you every step of the way. But I also enjoy the candid moments as well. When it comes to weddings, you have grandparents that might not be there forever that you want to capture. You might see moments in your photos that you didn’t see on your wedding day, but because I have that attention to detail and paying attention to all of the emotion throughout the day, I love just capturing those small moments.

Any big plans?
I recently became full-time with my photography a few months ago. It has been 10 years in the making, and I’m so excited to be able to call myself a full-time photographer. I plan on continuing my journey and capturing weddings in the Raleigh area. I’m looking forward to just growing my business and getting to know people. Not only doing their weddings, but also doing their maternity and newborn pictures and their anniversary pictures, and being with them throughout all those fun milestones in their life.
