Check Out Reese Royal’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reese Royal.

Hi Reese; thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
An Earth, Wind & Fire member heard me sing at a gala & told me if you were not in the studio, I was going now. From there, I was in the studio for the next three years & recorded 8 EPs. Later I was asked to do a radio interview at Little Raleigh Radio, then ended up having my show on this station called The Royal Truth. If that wasn’t enough of a blessing, I started hosting & performing in a comedy variety show called Love & Laughter in Goldsboro at Pier 34 Seafood & Bar. This show consists of music, comedy & spoken word. After a successful debut, the show expanded to The House in Durham & The Haymaker in Raleigh. But to me, my biggest accomplishment is my annual food drive called Royal Thanksgiving. This event, which is in its 7th year, is to feed as many families as possible for Thanksgiving. This is all done thru our company Royal Truth Entertainment established by my brother & me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been smooth at all but a true adventure. You go through many people to find the good ones that see your vision.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am releasing my first album next year titled Time Chest, led by the single “I Won’t Leave.” I’m proud of the success of two prior singles making it to the radio (“Bull Sh*t” & “Petty”). All of my music is written & sung by me under Royal Truth Publishing. What I think sets me apart is the desire for everyone to succeed. My mission statement is “We’re all descendants of Kings & Queens, so claim our throne.

Do you have any advice for those just starting?
Don’t get discouraged when you hear “No.” you will get a lot of No’s before you hear “Yes!”
