Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Dozier.
Hi Ryan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been a talker. Talking often got me in a lot of trouble in school.
From my name being written on the board, to having to go to lunch detention because of talking. My earliest memory of me speaking in front of a crowd is from church. I was asked to welcome some guests and though I was nervous, it felt quite natural.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been far from a smooth road. When I first started out, I knew nothing about immediately grabbing the attention of the audience in my introductions.
I would often wonder and still do wonder up to this present time, am I really making a connection? One of the biggest struggles that I’ve wrestled with is comparing myself to other speakers.
I think that is the most dangerous thing that any person can do to themselves, compare. I would be so hard on myself if I mispronounced a word or if I didn’t honor a punctuation mark correctly. It’s not as bad as it used to be though.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a staff Pastor at my local church and I have the honor and privilege to serve as the Young Adult Pastor of Raleigh North Christian Center.
I specialize in building relationships with people from every walk of life. I get to tell them about Jesus Christ. This has afforded me the opportunity to speak outside of the church walls whether it’s motivational or faith-based on college campuses, detention centers, and businesses.
I also officiate weddings and emcee special events such as wedding receptions, birthday parties, and other special events. I am most proud of the change that takes place in a person’s life. What sets me apart is my ability to connect with every age demographic.
What were you like growing up?
I was always talking and talking got me in a lot of trouble at school! I was known for making people laugh… let’s just say that I was the class clown!
As any young boy growing up, I was interested in sports so I played baseball and basketball. I also had a love for music and I still do.
