Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Glass.
Hi Samantha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I remember waking up at 5:30 AM for the first time that semester, sleepy but determined. My commute from Greenville to Wake Tech in Raleigh was two hours, and I wanted to be in class by 8 AM. After class I’d rush to a nanny job to pay rent and gas, then drive home—often not crawling into bed until 8 or 9 PM. For a while, that became my routine: hustle, hustle, hustle.
That semester, I did something I’d never done before: I packed up my things, found a modest two-bedroom, two-bath apartment by a lake (just me and my dog), and moved—in secret. I was terrified someone would tell me I was crazy, or try to stop me. But I needed to prove to myself that I could—on my own.
That leap into independence changed everything.
Once at Wake Tech, I fell in love with esthetics. I immersed myself in classes, formed deep bonds with classmates and instructors, and found purpose in caring for others. My very first job—working for a family whose trust and kindness I’ll never forget—taught me the importance of empathy, professionalism, and ethical responsibility.
Years later, with my husband cheering me on, I took another leap: opening my own business. I started in a rented closet from a woman named Tina, who gave me my first shot. From there, I built a thriving brick-and-mortar salon, hired eight employees—many of whom now manage their own spaces—and even expanded to a second location. Recently, I made the hard but necessary decision to downsize back to one location to prioritize my mental health and my daughters’ lives. That choice reaffirmed what really matters: quality, balance, and intentional leadership.
Through esthetics, I learned more than skin care: I learned to communicate deeply, lead with integrity, and foster trust. I mentor team members, support clients in moments of vulnerability, and model resilience and self-respect for my daughters. My journey isn’t just about career—it’s about authentic connection, moral growth, and purposeful living
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest obstacle(s) I faced was learning to run a business while working in a business. That part was and is pretty chaotic. Lol
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in full body waxing, eyebrow shaping and enhancing, relaxing facials and corrective skin care, lash lifts, lamination, and yoni steams. What im known for fluctuates. Sometimes you hear it’s the brows, other times facials or body waxing. But honestly the most consistent is im known for being me, respectfully. Im know for my attention to detail and the way I customize each service to the clients needs. Most people leave my space feeling seen, heard, loved, and expectations being met. Also im slightly funny so that helps. Lol
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can support my journey by promoting and referring my business—sharing posts, writing reviews, and recommending Glass Wax to friends—and by partnering or attending events, such as co-hosting workshops, buying gift cards, or joining loyalty programs to boost visibility and growth.
