Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Erby.
Hi Shannon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story really began in 2018, when I unexpectedly lost my job. What felt like a setback at the time became the turning point that pushed me into my purpose. Instead of scrambling to find another position, I took a leap of faith and decided to focus on building the business I had only been nurturing on the side.
Those early days were full of uncertainty, but they were also full of prayer, grit, and determination. I showed up every day, learned as I went, and trusted that the seed God placed in my hands was worth cultivating. Over time, that leap of faith grew into a business that allowed me to create, serve clients, and build something I’m truly proud of.
The journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been purposeful. Losing my job didn’t break me—it redirected me. And every step since has been a reminder that sometimes the biggest blessings come disguised as closed doors.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has definitely not been smooth. Building a business after losing my job in 2018 came with its own set of challenges — emotionally, financially, and spiritually. There were seasons where orders were slow, resources were tight, and I questioned whether I had really heard God correctly.
One of the biggest struggles was learning how to balance everything on my own — the creative work, the operations, the finances, the marketing, the late nights, the early mornings. There were moments when doubt crept in, when I felt overwhelmed, and when I wondered if I should go back to something “safe.”
But every challenge taught me something. I learned discipline. I learned resilience. I learned how to trust God in the gaps — the moments where I didn’t have the answers or the roadmap. And I learned how to keep showing up even when it felt uncomfortable.
The struggles didn’t stop the journey; they shaped it. They stretched me, refined me, and pushed me to grow into the businesswoman I am today. And looking back, I can see that every obstacle was preparing me for the opportunities I’m walking in now.
