Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvonda Seda.

Yvonda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started in the beauty industry in 2009 as a licensed manicurist. I quickly found that I loved the industry so I furthered my education and became a licensed esthetician in 2014. I worked in various facilities during my journey including day spas, medical practices, med spas, and specialized treatment centers. I decided that I wanted my own practice so I found a space and went solo in 2016. When I initially opened, I did so with no clientele and no major plan – I knew that this is what I wanted to do and I was willing to do whatever needed to be done to grow my personal business. For several years, I worked a full-time job and worked my business around that job to make sure I could cover my business overhead and home expenses while continuing to grow my business but it became more and more apparent that this “safe” journey was slowing my growth potential because I was being stretched too thin. I decided to go out on a limb and make my business the #1 priority in 2020 and haven’t regretted it at all. I love what I do and I love the relationships that I have built over the years with my amazing clients.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
At times, along the way, work/life balance has been a struggle. Owning your own business has many perks, but it definitely comes with responsibilities that don’t go away when you leave the building. Learning to create healthy boundaries and working on those boundaries regularly has been a great help. My goal is to always continue to become a better version of myself so becoming complacent is not an option.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a licensed esthetician, instructor and manicurist located in Raleigh, NC. My business is “Perfected Beauty LLC”. I offer hair removal services with both waxing and sugaring, corrective and preventative skincare, permanent makeup, lash lifts and classes. I specialize in and am known for my Brazilians and corrective skincare. I am frequently praised for how thorough I am with my treatments and how comfortable my clients are with me. I pride myself in creating and maintaining a safe, comfortable space for my clients where they can feel at ease while enjoying their treatments. I do not offer “one size fits all” treatments. I customize treatments based on the client’s current needs and goals and realize that these can change at each visit.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I really enjoy bike riding (more than I would’ve expected myself).
