Community Highlights: From Chile to CEO: A Journey of Faith, Resilience, and Business Impact

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camila Hargett. MBA.

Hi Camila, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story really starts with being an immigrant and learning early on how much resilience, adaptability, and mindset shape the path you take in life.
I’m originally from Chile, and when I moved to the United States, I had to rebuild everything from the ground up-my network, my confidence, my career direction, all of it. That experience taught me something powerful: when you don’t have access to the same resources, guidance, or opportunities, you either stay stuck… or you learn how to create your own way forward.
I’ve always been someone who loves structure, planning, and problem-solving, so naturally I found myself drawn to business. I pursued my MBA because I wanted to deepen my understanding of strategy, operations, and finance-not just for myself, but because I knew I wanted to help other people grow and build something meaningful.
Over time, I started working with entrepreneurs and small business owners and I kept seeing the same pattern: people had incredible talent, passion, and vision-but they lacked the systems, clarity, and support needed to scale sustainably. Many of them were overwhelmed, operating in survival mode, and trying to figure everything out alone.
That’s what led me to create Sezhel LLC.
I wanted to build a consulting firm that wasn’t cold or transactional, but still extremely strategic and results-driven. I believe businesses can grow through wisdom, intention, and smart systems-not burnout. Sezhel is rooted in the idea of sechel, which represents wisdom and common sense, and that truly reflects how I approach my work: practical, thoughtful, and aligned with the human side of business.
Today, I get to do what I love most-help business owners create structure, make better decisions, strengthen their operations, and build companies that don’t just survive, but thrive. And honestly, it feels like everything I’ve lived through-starting over, learning from scratch, pushing through uncertainty-has shaped me into the kind of leader and consultant I am today.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but even more proud of the people I get to support along the way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not-it has not been a smooth road. And honestly, I don’t think business is ever meant to be smooth. Struggle is part of the process. The real difference isn’t whether challenges show up, it’s how we face them, how we respond, and what we learn through them.
There were many moments where I had to navigate uncertainty-especially in the beginning. Building a business from scratch requires you to wear every hat at once. You’re building systems, trying to attract the right clients, learning how to price your services, managing cash flow, and still showing up with confidence even when you’re figuring things out as you go.
One of the biggest struggles has been realizing that growth requires constant evolution. You can’t build something successful and expect to stay the same person you were when you started. You have to mature with the business.
And because my work is so people-centered, another challenge is that I’m always working within what I call the “mess” -the reality that we’re all a work in progress. Businesses are not perfect machines. They are living systems made of people, personalities, emotions, and competing priorities. So I don’t just work with business owners- I work alongside high-level executives, leadership teams, and managers. I’m often coordinating and managing the adjacent professionals that support the business goals too: accountants, bookkeepers, attorneys, engineers, contractors, and other specialists who all play a role in helping the company succeed.
That means I’m constantly navigating different communication styles, expectations, timelines, and sometimes even conflict. But I’ve learned that being effective in this work requires more than strategy- it requires emotional intelligence, patience, and the ability to bring clarity into complexity.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth- but I also believe that’s what makes it meaningful. The struggles are where the growth happens, and I’ve learned to embrace them as part of the journey instead of seeing them as something that means I’m failing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Sezhel LLC?
Sezhel LLC is a business consulting firm built to help entrepreneurs and organizations grow with clarity, structure, and purpose. We specialize in helping businesses strengthen their foundation- whether that means refining operations, improving financial strategy, building systems, or preparing for sustainable expansion.
At the core, what we do is help businesses move from “working hard” to working smart. Many of our clients are talented, passionate, and driven, but they’re overwhelmed because their business has outgrown their systems. That’s where we come in. We support with strategic planning, process improvement, ROI calculations, business formation, compliance, and long-term operational structure. We also help leaders understand their numbers, create forecasting plans, and make confident decisions based on real data.
What makes Sezhel unique is that we’re not just consultants who give advice and walk away. We are deeply hands-on and very involved in the execution process. I work with business owners, high-level executives and leadership teams, adjacent professionals needed to support the overall goals of the business—accountants, bookkeepers, attorneys, engineers, and other specialists- so everything is aligned and moving in the same direction.
Another important piece of our identity is that we’re intentionally values-driven. The name Sezhel comes from the concept of sechel, meaning wisdom and common sense. That is truly the heartbeat of our brand. We focus on practical strategies that are customized, realistic, and sustainable- not generic templates or motivational talk. We believe wisdom is what creates long-term success.
Something I’m especially proud of is that Sezhel has expanded beyond a local vision. We are registered not only in North Carolina, but now also in Delaware, which is a major milestone for us and represents our growth into a broader market. That Delaware branch opened this year, and it’s part of our larger expansion strategy as we continue building a firm that supports businesses nationally and internationally.
Internationally, Sezhel is also focused on building bridges and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs across borders. As someone who comes from an immigrant background, I understand the unique challenges that business owners face when navigating different systems, cultures, and business environments. That perspective shapes how we approach consulting- we’re able to think globally while still being very grounded in local strategy and execution.
What I want readers to know is that Sezhel is about more than growth- it’s about building businesses that are structured, profitable, and aligned with the life and impact the owner wants to create. We bring strategy, systems, and wisdom into the messy parts of business, and we help leaders build something they can truly be proud of.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is our reputation. We’re known for being thorough, trustworthy, and genuinely invested in our clients. We don’t just help businesses “look good”- we help them operate better, make smarter decisions, and become stronger from the inside out.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a little different- and I felt it deeply.
Personality-wise, I was observant, sensitive, and very introspective. I wasn’t the loudest person in the room, but I was always paying attention to everything. I noticed patterns, emotions, and details that other people seemed to miss. At the same time, I struggled with a lot of insecurities because I learned differently. I was an ADHD child, and for a long time I felt like a misfit- like I didn’t fit into the traditional way people expected you to think, learn, or perform.
I remember feeling like I had so much inside of me, but it didn’t always come out in a way that others understood. That was frustrating and sometimes painful, because when you’re young you interpret that as “something is wrong with me,” instead of realizing your brain just works differently.
But I also think that experience shaped a lot of who I became. It taught me resilience early on. It taught me how to adapt, how to self-reflect, and how to push through discomfort.
As far as interests, I was always drawn to learning- but in my own way. I loved ideas, curiosity, and figuring out how things worked. I was the type of person who could get completely obsessed with something and go deep into it. I also cared a lot about people, even if I didn’t always know how to express it. I think that’s why I’ve always been naturally drawn to helping others- especially people who feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or underestimated.
Later in life, when I learned about personality types, I was identified as an INFJ- which is known as one of the rarest Myers-Briggs personality types. That made so much sense to me because INFJs are often described as deep thinkers, intuitive, driven by purpose, and very aware of others. It helped me understand myself in a new way, and honestly, it was validating. It was like realizing, “Oh… I’m not broken. I’m just wired differently.”
So growing up, I’d say I was a mix of ambitious and insecure, quiet but intense, emotional but analytical. I was always a work in progress- and in many ways, I still am. But I’ve learned to embrace that. I think that’s also why I connect so strongly with business owners today. Most entrepreneurs are works in progress too, building themselves while building their businesses.
