Community Highlights: Meet Alex Kestner of Carolina Collective Realty by Real Broker, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Kestner

Hi Alex, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started with many years of customer service, which spanned from working at Disney in the college program to deciding to work in property management in Atlanta as a leasing consultant. Here I developed a passion for helping people find “home”… so much may or may not matter from one person to the next and it became exciting to figure out each persons needs and match them to the option that best suited that. I had a coworker transition from leasing to real estate and I decided it would also be a smart choice for me. I obtained my real estate license in 2020, but not before everything closed down due to the pandemic. I had just graduated from Pan School of Realty and bam! covid happened and I had to wait 2 months before I could take my state/national exam. Once I could, I did, and I passed… I was sooooo happy! I had studied so hard and enjoyed learning this craft, it excited me to excel in it! I joined the Rachel Kendall Team (now, known as Carolina Collective Realty by Real Broker, LLC) which is where I stayed for about 8 months before moving out of state, having my wonderful son in Charleston, SC before returning back to the Raleigh area 2+ years later. I rejoined the same team and have been loving the personal growth, learning opportunities, and building bonds that make me a better person all around. I really have enjoyed the journey!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Every day could bring in a new scenario that you may have never encountered before. So not to say it is a struggle but an opportunity to utilize your resources to help figure out the A to the Q. I have relied on experts in the field and common sense to truly help navigate some of the most challenging or simpler tasks at hand. You read the situation each time, you never know how this may challenge you and you can hopefully have a support system around you in place to ask for advice.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a Real Estate Broker and specialize helping on the buyer side of the transaction at Carolina Collective Realty by Real Broker, LLC in Raleigh, NC. I am a happy person and care to make sure my clients needs are met. I am proud to be associated with a strong team of compassionate and hard working people I can relate to on many facets. These folks help me become a multi-layered agent that can bring so much education, knowledge, and support to the clients side of the transaction. I love making sure my clients know this isn’t about a sale, it’s about making sure they know how they can be as best prepared for this big purchase and how to level up in their life, for their goals. I am a full time real estate agent and this is how I keep the boat afloat for my son and I. I make sure my clients are well prepared on what to expect in the NC real estate transaction and what they can do now even as they prepare for their future. There are several people a buyer needs to connect with during their real estate purchase and I help facilitate that process via education and option.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Make sure you find a firm that fits your lifestyle and personal needs. But also know you get what you put in. You have to be prepared to really put time into learning what to do and know you’ll constantly be learning no matter how long you’ve done this. Find a firm that has good leads from reliable sources and a firm that will support your growth. Hang in there and have fun. This is a time consuming job, but well worth the reward you put in.
