Community Highlights: Meet Brandis Abrams and Xavier Lloyd

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandis Abrams and Xavier Lloyd.

Hi Brandis and Xavier, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Brandis- I’ve always wanted to do something with houses. I remember in school every chance I could take an elective dealing with houses I did. I love the uniqueness each home offers. I love to help people, So I’ve always known I wanted to incorporate my desire to help others into my career choice. Real Estate isn’t just about selling houses for a check, it is also helping people find security in a place they can call their own. I take pride in assisting others with care knowledge and skill. My goal is to make dreams become a reality. So many people where I come from see buying a house as impossible and I want to help make-believe that even the impossible is possible!

Xavier- Growing up in what would be considered poverty today was a life-altering experience growing up. Over the years, taking care of my family became the ultimate motivation. What brought me to real estate was how I could somehow help myself, while helping others in the process so that everybody wins. Real estate quickly became a passion after learning the importance of proper representation when purchasing property. I like to think that when I am representing a client, they’re getting more than what their money can buy with my due diligence and integrity to get the job done.

Us teaming up together was a no-brainer. We both bring so much in different ways. Xavier can light up any room when he walks in. the researcher is Brandis; she will definitely find any answer you need.

To be doing something you love with your best friend is indescribable it’s a support system and a partnership wrapped into one and it just works. it would be unimaginable to walk into this new chapter with anyone else.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Brandis- It has been a journey the Real Estate class online was a struggle omg I hadn’t been in a classroom setting in years. The actual Real Estate exam I almost gave up on.  The test was way more difficult than I anticipated. I was determined I couldn’t let myself down. I told myself if I want to help others fulfill their dreams I can’t give up on mine! as I continue to build a name for myself there are constant struggles I face daily. I had to get over my fear of rejection QUICK. there are so many Nos so many people who solicit me for information and take their business elsewhere is a tough pill to swallow but I know what is meant for me will be so I continue to educate myself and others as best I can

Xavier- My greatest obstacle and most difficult challenge was overcoming my own perception of myself. While taking the class, I would always wonder how successful or why me to be the successful one in this career. To say the least, my mind was my own worst enemy and it knew me very well. After realizing how satisfying this career would become, I no longer saw myself as the challenge and began to excel.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Brandis- My family, without them I am nothing. All of my motivation comes from them. the support they give is unmatched. My family gives off so much love and that’s something I can truly appreciate in today’s world. we are surrounded by so much hate and me just being able to find comfort in knowing I can pick up the phone and call any family member cousins, aunts uncle, nephew, etc. and find a genuine conversation that’s peace for me I am beyond grateful and thankful to have them as my family and I wouldn’t trade them for anything in this world!

Xavier- What makes me happy is financial freedom. In return, I am able to spend much more time with my family and spend more time doing other things that I love, like music. What also makes me happy is connecting with people and socializing to understand the diversity in all kinds of ethnic backgrounds. Happiness is what you make it will always be an understatement!
