Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Morales
Hi Breanna, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Miguel and I met 4 years ago at San Jose Tacos & Tequilla in Brier Creek where he was working. It was an instant connection. A lot of Starbucks dates later, we finally decided to make it official. We moved in together and our love ignited. In September of 2023 we decided to get married and had the wedding of our dreams in Laurinburg, NC. After the wedding planning process we realized we were in the wrong business. Both him and I have been in the bartending/restaurant business for years. So we decided to build our bar (literally in our apartment living room in Wilmington) We decided to name it after our first “child” Biscuit. He is a mini labradoodle and absolutely precious. You can find pictures of him on our website. I got all the proper paperwork together and we launched our business. We got professional pictures taken and I created our website. Each event we booked we learned more and more about ourselves and improved our business. In January of 2024 we found out we were pregnant. This is when we made the decision to move to Raleigh back closer to our family for support. We welcomed our sweet Bella Rae last week on September 17. She is exactly what we needed to complete our little family. As of today, we are continuing to book events for 2025/2026 season and have now made this our full time jobs. We are extremely excited to see what Raleigh/Durham has to offer and see what doors open for us here.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part this process has been a very smooth road. Miguel and I both have tons of experience from bartending to restaurant management. We took those experiences and that is what helped us to develop how we want to manage and run our business as a family/couple. Some of the struggles we have faced is other competition in a smaller area. Wilmington has lots of mobile bars and is not a huge area. Making sure we lock in on what we can offer and the guests experience has made us successful.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Tipsy Biscuit Mobile Bartending . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a dry hire service. Meaning we provide everything but the alcohol. We do a full consultation with our clients to get an idea of what type of event, how many people, what kind of cocktails they want to be served and how many hours they want to party. After that we create a menu for them and a complete shopping list of what alcohol to purchase. On the day of the event we bring our bar, if the venue doesn’t provide one, and all the necessary tools and we provide bartending services for the agreed amount of time in the contract.
I think one thing that sets us apart from others is my husband, Miguel, is bilingual. Because of this we are also able to cater to Spanish speaking/hispanic parties as well.
Most proud. This is not a job for us. This is our passion. Everything we do, we do it for our children. We absolutely love what we do. When we go to events and people come up to our bar we don’t only want to know what you want to drink. Tell me about you. Tell me what you like to do. Let’s have a conversation. We are there to have fun and celebrate the occasion. You are not just a bar guests to us. Everybody is family.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
We want to expand even more. Offer more. Work on our add on services. We have some stuff in the works. Stay tuned. Follow our social media.
