Hi Casey , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I graduated from Leon’s Beauty School in Greensboro, NC, and have been behind the chair for 22 years. Cosmetology quickly became more than just a career for me, it became a passion for helping people feel confident and beautiful.
In 2009, we took a leap of faith and opened Glamour Salon & Spa alongside my parents. From the very beginning, it was truly a family-built business. I still work side by side with my mom every day, she’s the heart of the salon, keeping everything running smoothly, from managing and cleaning to decorating and making it feel like home for both our team and our clients.
Over the years, we’ve grown into a thriving team of 8 stylists and 2 estheticians. What started as a small, family dream has turned into a full-service salon focused on teamwork, growth, and creating an experience where both our guests and our team feel supported and valued.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges has been building and maintaining the right team. In our industry, finding people who align with our values, work ethic, and commitment to growth can be difficult—especially in a small town.
The local economy has also played a role. Being in a smaller community means being very intentional about how we grow, market, and retain clients, while still supporting a full team behind the chair.
That said, through a lot of learning and growth, we’ve built an incredible team that truly feels like the right fit. We have the best team we’ve ever had—people who support each other, show up for our clients, and are committed to growing together. That’s made all the difference.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always a talker—definitely the chatterbox in the room. I’ve always had what people call a “mouth from the South,” and I could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Making friends came easy to me, and I’ve always loved connecting with people.
I was also really crafty and creative, always finding something to make or do. I cheered growing up, so I’ve always had that team spirit and love for encouraging others. More than anything, I’ve always just been a “people person”—the friend everyone could count on, the one smiling and trying to make others feel good.
Even now, people still tell me I always have a smile on my face—and that’s something that’s stayed with me my whole life.
