Hi Delene, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I graduated from ultrasound school in 2011 in California (where im from). 4 years later, I received a job offer from what was Prenatal Peek in Durham, NC
I literally thought, why not. The owner helped me find an apartment. Moved about 3 months later after the job offer. Unfortunately she closed the studio due to unforseen circumstances about 3 months after I moved here.
I did find a temporary job. And one day I was in the insurance company office and they said wait someone is opening a new studio where Prenatal Peek was, and they are looking for someone.
The sweetest ever! They reached out to the new owner. She and her husband hired me right on the spot. October 2015 Durham 4D Baby was born. I have been running it ever since. At least until February of this year when I became the owner.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wish! I do love that I have been managing the studio for the past 10 years. Now I am alone in the marketing/advertising/social media…etc. That doesn’t include family life.
I do feel it is rewarding when I see my patients leave the studio happy and feeling more connected to their little one.

We are an elective ultrasound studio that specializes in early gender determination and High Definition ultrasounds.
I feel like our studio gives a “cozy” feeling, relaxed. Something so different than an appointment at OB/GYN office. We love the fact our studio offers live streaming for family and friends to enjoy your ultrasound session without leaving their home. Or if they are in another state, or even deployed.
I am so proud that most of our clients our by referrals. Whether it is from friends, family, and even some physicians. They recommend here because they know I try my hardest to make sure each family leaves happy.
I would want the readers to know, most of the time it is a 1 woman show here! From answering emails/phones/ultrasounds…it’s me.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see myself owning 2 more studios and also offering mobile ultrasounds. Perfect for gender reveals and baby showers. I am not too sure about big shifts, I have owned the studio for less than a year so maybe next year I can start putting plans into place.
