Hi Drea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey into the cleaning industry began when I was just a child, helping my mom clean vacation rentals in the mountains of Ashe County, North Carolina. Even then, I discovered I was very good at it, although I had always been known as “the cleaner” person in the family.

I started a cleaning company because I noticed that many people don’t receive the clean home they deserve, even after paying a lot of money for cleaning services. I wanted to actually help people, whether by improving their mental and physical health with a clean home or helping them get their security deposit back from a landlord. I saw an opportunity to fill that gap by offering a five-star cleaning experience every time because people deserve it.

After gaining even more experience cleaning hotel rooms and working for someone else’s cleaning company, I decided to use my dedication and skills to build my own business. I started researching everything I needed to know about starting a cleaning business – from startup costs to obtaining an LLC – in 2021, when I was pregnant with my second child. After having him in 2022, I put everything I had learned into practice and started Dazzling Detailers LLC.

I began advertising on Facebook and quickly started gaining clients. The positive feedback and growing client base were incredibly encouraging. As my reputation for excellent service spread, I started hiring independent contractors to help manage the workload. Dazzling Detailers LLC now provides a range of services, including residential (deep and move-in/out cleanings, recurring cleaning), commercial (janitorial, office cleanings), post-construction cleanup, and post-event cleanup services. We continuously strive to exceed expectations and provide a five-star experience to your home or business.

Today, I’m proud to say that our business has grown significantly, and we’ve established a loyal client base. The journey has been filled with challenges and learning experiences, but seeing the positive impact we have on our clients’ lives and environments makes it all worthwhile.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a cleaning business came with its fair share of challenges. One of the biggest struggles was balancing my time and energy, especially since I was pregnant with my second child when I began planning Dazzling Detailers LLC. Juggling family responsibilities while researching and laying the groundwork for the business was incredibly demanding.

Another major challenge was understanding the business side of things. While I was confident in my cleaning skills, learning about startup costs, licensing, insurance, and legal requirements for setting up an LLC was a steep learning curve. I spent countless hours researching and educating myself to ensure I was fully prepared.

Building a client base from scratch was also tough. I started by advertising on Facebook, but getting those initial clients required persistence and patience. I had to build trust and credibility, often offering promotional rates or extra services to prove the quality of my work. The positive feedback was encouraging, but it took time to establish a steady stream of clients.

Additionally, managing the financial aspects of the business was challenging. Without any startup money or funding of any kind, I had to be incredibly resourceful. Ensuring I had enough resources to cover expenses, invest in quality cleaning supplies, and eventually hire independent contractors required careful planning and budgeting.

Lastly, hiring and training staff to meet my high standards was a significant hurdle. Finding reliable, dedicated individuals who shared my commitment to delivering a five-star cleaning experience took time. Ensuring consistent quality across all our services required developing comprehensive training programs and maintaining clear communication with my team.

Despite these struggles, each challenge taught me valuable lessons and ultimately contributed to the growth and success of Dazzling Detailers LLC. The journey was tough, but seeing the positive impact we have on our clients’ lives and environments made every obstacle worth overcoming.
