Community Highlights: Meet Eric Hoeckberg of Omnia Paratus Health Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Hoeckberg.

Hi Eric, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started in the fitness industry while I was in college in Germany with my first position as a Personal Trainer.

After finishing my Masters Degree in Exercise Science I held many different positions from working in a rehabilitation setting, working hand in hand with Physical Therapists all the way to working with collegiate division 1 athletes.

In 2011 I decided to move from Germany to New York City. After starting a position as a personal trainer I quickly was able to work myself into a managerial position and ultimately became the general manager of a private health club in New York City.

In 2017 my wife and I welcomed our first child and decided to move our life to North Carolina. I started working as a manager for local fitness corporation.

In 2020 when everything shut down and closed we opened our garage gym to friends and started building a community and business out of our garage. It grew quickly and soon after we had to find a space to move the business into.

We opened our doors in April of 2022 and have been operating there ever since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s never smooth but fear is usually the sign that an opportunity for growth is waiting and that positive approach is what keeps me going.

Plenty of obstacles and struggles:

New York City with only $1000 and having to start a new life in a foreign country and city.

Moving to North Carolina with a new born, relying on the corporate job to provide for our family which didn’t come work out as promised.

Operating a business out of our garage with us worrying about the HOA shutting us down any minute.

Signing up for a building lease in late 2020, not able to occupy the space until September 2021 and then dealing with a buildout and many delay in our construction process until we were finally able to open our doors.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Omnia Paratus Health Training?

How do you define success?
To me, success is defined in the achievement of my own set goals as well as in my positive impact on people in my environment.

Those two aspects are equally important
