Community Highlights: Meet Erycka Anderson of TXV Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erycka Anderson.

Hi Erycka, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
TXV Studios, LLC. started in 2018 at my alma mater, East Carolina University. I served as the videographer for events around campus through the Student Activities Board club. In elementary school, I knew that video would be a part of my life in some aspect because I always had a camera with me. I then found myself creating videos on the Youtube platform when it first surfaced on the internet. Fast forward to the current day platform; Tik Tok, I’ve built a following of over 100,000+ followers creating relatable and comedic content. Today, I run my own video production company serving The Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Cary and Chapel Hill) all the way down to my hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The beginning of anything is always hard. However, I practice viewing my circumstances as choosing my hard. For example, it’s hard to start a business that you love but it’s harder staying in a job you hate. I choose to put in 100% towards the life I know I’m capable of creating. I have a strong support system through faith and family so on days where it will inevitably be more challenging than others, I practice being still in moments to clearly hear what my next steps are but I also take the action with what I have right in front of me to create an opportunity. The biggest struggle as a creative in my opinion is impostor syndrome. Imposter syndrome is when an opportunity has presented itself but you don’t feel that you are at that stage in your life yet or qualified on why you would be capable of doing it. However, I’ve taught myself that the opportunity wouldn’t have presented itself if you weren’t ready for it, it’s all in your mind and how you view your next level. Your biggest opponent in life is always going to be yourself so it’s important to be your biggest supporter before the opportunities and accomplishments show themselves. At first, it was scary thinking that I could fail but I don’t think it was the failure I used to be afraid of, it was the success I’d have to maintain.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about TXV Studios?
TXV Studios is a video production company specializing in videography and video editing in The Triangle. Our primary categories include corporate and custom videos ranging from behind the scenes, real estate marketing, event recaps and small business commercials. We’ve had the pleasure to work with some amazing clients and brands including Nike’s Yardrunners, Toms’ Footwear, Dreamville Festival, Keller Williams Real Estate and many more. Our favorite part about meeting new clients is hearing the vision that they have for their project. Some clients know exactly what they’re looking for and we make it happen and others know what they’re going for but upon request, we help them put the cherry on top of their vision so they can see their story come to life. Our motto stands true in filming and editing your story so the world can see your vision on video.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Recently, podcasts have been my favorite form of retaining knowledge. When multitasking it’s nice to keep motivational energy around. Some of the podcasts I listen to include Gary Vee, The Mindset Mentor with Rob Dial, and Transformation Church. When I make time for a decompressing activity, I’ll try gravitating more towards a new read. I’m in the middle of Rich dad, poor dad by Robert Kiyosaki and I’m excited to move towards the Creative Screenwriter by Julian Hoxter next.
