Community Highlights: Meet Jillian Parisi of Plucked Consignment Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jillian Parisi.

Jillian Parisi

Hi Jillian, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My journey with Plucked began with my love of fashion and shopping all things secondhand and vintage! I began re-selling through online apps and Flea Markets in 2015 as a way to earn a bit of extra income, and it eventually grew to where I am today! I found a small space in the Heart of Downtown Cary and opened my Consignment Boutique in February of 2022.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall, I’d say it’s been a surprisingly smooth road! I truly felt as though it was meant to be, and it seemed the moment I decided that this was what I wanted to do, things just sort of fell into place. I will say business ownership can be demanding and requires much more time and energy than any of my previous careers, but in the end, it’s worth it. It’s amazing to see your hard work paying off, and I’ve met many new people and made some amazing connections along the way.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Plucked Consignment Boutique offers a curated selection of gently pre-owned quality Women’s Clothing and Accessories. We take a lot of pride knowing our business is doing its part to combat the harmful effects of Fast Fashion on our environment. We offer many current and classic styles, including hundreds of quality and luxury name brands. As a nature lover, artist and creative I wanted to create a unique and interesting space for our customers to shop and I happy to serve the vibrant Downtown Cary community, which also happens to be the same place I grew up! It’s been amazing to see all of the growth and exciting things coming to the area, and it’s been truly special to be a part of it all!

What are your plans for the future?
We are always making small changes around the shop and looking for ways to improve our customers’ experience. We are hoping to add more special events and possibly a few guided classes in the near future. We would also love to bring on more local vendors and creators by selling their handmade goods at our shop!
