Today we’d like to introduce you to Jodie Brim.
Hi Jodie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my business in 2012 as a wedding photographer. As my clients grew in their careers, they began asking me for headshots and business photography. That shift lit me up.
I went full-time in 2013 and spent several years photographing both weddings and brands. In 2019, I made the decision to leave the wedding industry behind and focus entirely on entrepreneurs and businesses. Since then, I’ve helped build more than 500 personal brands through brand strategy, photography, videography, and content creation.
Today, I’m the founder of Jodie Brim Creative, where my team and I help founders become more visible through intentional strategy and visual storytelling. I also founded a community (Her Next Flex) for ambitious women entrepreneurs who are navigating reinvention. Whether I’m leading a strategy session, producing content, or bringing women together in the same room, my work is centered on helping people step into their next chapter with confidence and build brands that continue creating opportunities long after the shoot is over.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most entrepreneurs, I’ve experienced seasons of rapid growth alongside seasons that required me to completely rethink how I was running my business.
One of the biggest lessons has been learning how to lead through growth. As the business expanded, so did the complexity. I had to build systems, hire and lead a team, let go of services that were no longer aligned, and shift from being the person who did everything to becoming the CEO of a company. and recognize when it’s time to evolve.
On a personal level, I’ve also learned that success evolves. What I wanted ten years ago isn’t what I want today, and I’ve had to give myself permission to grow into new dreams without feeling like I was leaving my old ones behind. That mindset has shaped not only how I lead my businesses but also why I created Her Next Flex, to give other women a place to navigate that same transition with confidence.
We’ve been impressed with Jodie Brim Creative, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Jodie Brim Creative is a brand strategy and content agency that helps entrepreneurs become the obvious choice in their industry. We combine brand strategy, photography, videography, and content creation to give business owners the tools they need to market themselves with confidence and consistency.
While we’re known for creating elevated visuals, what truly sets us apart is the strategy that comes first. Every session begins with understanding the business, the audience, and the goals behind the content. We aren’t simply creating beautiful photos. We’re creating assets that support launches, websites, speaking opportunities, social media, PR, and sales for months to come.
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of helping build more than 500 personal brands, and one of the things I’m most proud of is the team we’ve built. Our clients aren’t dependent on one photographer or one creative. They’re supported by a team that genuinely cares about helping them grow. That has allowed us to serve everyone from local entrepreneurs to nationally recognized founders while maintaining the same level of care and intentionality.
I’m also proud that our work has grown beyond content creation. Through Jodie Brim Creative and Her Next Flex, we’re helping founders think differently about visibility, leadership, and the next season of their business. My hope is that when people encounter our brand, they leave feeling more confident, more seen, and more equipped to share the work they’ve been called to do.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I still remember when my mom let me get a nail drill and set up a little nail business in our basement. I was 12 years old, charging the neighborhood girls $5 for acrylic tips. Looking back, I had no idea that was the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey.
I’ve always loved business. It’s one of my favorite things to learn about and one of my favorite conversations to have. Building a business has challenged me in ways I never expected. It has stretched me, humbled me, and taught me more about myself than I could have imagined.
