Community Highlights: Meet Kate Daggett of MAGICMOON, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Daggett

Hi Kate, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It started in 2023, I am a vendor for my own business, MAGICMOON, LLC. I sell crystals and other metaphysical supplies. My husband, Gene, mentioned that we should start our own market, where MAGICMOON, LLC and other small businesses can get together within the community and grow.

In January of 2024, I started Three Seasons Vendor Market, which is owned by MAGICMOON, LLC. Three Seasons Vendor Market is operated by myself, my husband, and my three sons. I coordinate by reaching out to all small business owners (crafters, farmers, artisans, service providers, and others). I get these small business owners together and we set up shop at Triangle Cinemas upper parking lot at 9500 Forum Drive in Raleigh. We hold markets every other Saturday until December 14. We will open back up in the Spring of 2025. On the day of the markets, my husband and sons help the vendors with setup, parking, etc. And I setup my MAGICMOON tent.

It has been an amazing process to meet so many wonderful small business owners in the Triangle, and get to collaborate with them. We also hold fundraisers every month to help those in need. In April we had a Fundraiser for The Autism Society of NC, in May we had one for NAMI, NC, to help those with mental health struggles. In june we had a fundraiser for Paws For Life, NC, helping animals find homes. This month (July) will be for The VFW of North Carolina to help veterans. August we are fundraising for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. I am not sure what we will fundraise for September, although I am thinking about fundraising for the foster care system, October will be a fundraiser for breast cancer, with the Susan Komen foundation, as a I am a breast cancer survivor. November will be for the food bank, and I am unsure about December, but I am thinking maybe toys for tots.

It is such a good feeling to create a space for small businesses to succeed, and at the same time give donations to those that need it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some personal challenges I have faced is overcoming fear. Fear of not being good enough, fear of failure. I have had to put myself out there, more than I ever have and I struggle with anxiety.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
MAGICMOON, LLC is my baby. I love all things metaphysical, crystals, dowsing rods, tarot cards, all of it. It is my passion and brings me the most joy in life. I love helping people, and love learning about the spiritual world. MAGICMOON owns Three Seasons Vendor Market, which allows MAGICMOON to get out into the community, and share its magic. My branding is amazing, and I have had several compliments on it. Purple and blue make up my tent at Three Seasons Vendor Market. I plan to expand and soon offer services such as metaphysical counseling, which I have a degree in. In the meantime, shoppers can come to Three Seasons Vendor Market and shop some amazing metaphysical supplies, crystals, and crafts from MAGICMOON, LLC and also shop from a wide array of up to 50 other vendors who sell a wide variety of things. Also, shoppers can make donations to some amazing causes!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
LOL I am not sure. I think I am a pretty open book. I love animals. I love German Shepherds, and have 3. I grew up in a very small town in Central New York, and was in the FFA in high school. I placed 2nd in the state for cow judging. I have always loved rocks, and used to collect them as a child.
