Hi Kevin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, grew up in a working-class family. My mother worked in a factory, and my father was a brick mason and ran a small farm, instilling the values of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Despite the challenges they faced, my parents always emphasized the importance of education and self-improvement.

After graduating high school, I enlisted in the Air Force, where I served the country with honor and gained valuable skills in leadership and discipline. Upon completing my service, I returned to Rocky Mount with a newfound sense of purpose and a desire to make a difference in this community.

Inspired by my parents’ work ethic and my own experiences in the military, I decided to pursue real estate. Drawing on savings from my time in the Air Force,I connected with my friend and fellow veteran and now buisness partner Jeffery and founded WBH Property Acquisition, a company dedicated to acquiring and renovating properties in Rocky Mount and surrounding areas.

My military background and strong work ethic is what I feel that sets me apart in the real estate industry. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to excellence helped WBH Property Acquisition quickly establish a reputation for quality and integrity.

Through hard work and determination, we are finally able to provide affordable housing options for families in need, revitalize neighborhoods, and create opportunities for economic growth in Rocky Mount. The success with WBH Property Acquisition not only brought financial stability to my own life but also inspired other veterans and young entrepreneurs in the community to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road. Starting a real estate investment company can come with a set of challenges and obstacles, especially being a newcomer to the industry. Here are some of the struggles that I faced:

1. Limited Access to Financing: One of my biggest challenges was securing financing for property acquisitions. Traditional banks were very hesitant to lend to me being I was a new investor or they required a large down payment or high-interest rates. This made it difficult for me to get my foot in the door and start building my portfolio.

2. Lack of Industry Knowledge: Real estate investing requires a deep understanding of market trends, property valuation, legal regulations, and negotiation skills. I struggled to navigate these complexities, leading to potential mistakes or missed opportunities.

3. Market Volatility: Real estate markets can be unpredictable, with fluctuations in property values, interest rates, and demand. With me being a new real estate investor I found it challenging to navigate these changes and make informed investment decisions to mitigate risks.

4. Building Relationships: Establishing relationships with real estate professionals, mentors, and industry experts was a struggle. Most people didn’t take me serious or would withhold valuable information
