Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Lusk.

Kristin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Drip Drop IV Hydration & Wellness is proud to be your number 1, 5 star IV Hydration Clinic near you! We focus on promoting health and wellness through IV (intravenous) therapy and Injections full of vitamins and minerals that can do wonders.
We do not use pre-mixed IV bags. We customize every IV drip individually at the time of your appointment in order to provide our clients with the most effective treatments. Kristin Lusk, Owner & Founder worked at Windor Point Nursing Home and Duke Raleigh in the Oncology Unit prior to and while she created her business from the ground up. She has a passion for helping others as well as natural wellness. She initially worked both as she mastered the logistics and new business kinks but is now fully running Drip Drop while also furthering her education to offer new services and open another location in the near future.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Balancing the unknowns and ups & downs of a new business while also working in the hospital part time really took a toll on me physically and mentally the first 2 years. Anyone who has started a business can relate to the intense amount of time and effort it takes but it was well worth it now that we are coming up on our 3-year anniversary in August. I truly had no clue how to open, manage or even start a business, I learned a lot, but I grew as a person in so many areas tremendously. I researched and utilized advice to try and be as prepared as possible when opening to ensure I could immediately offer the best experience for my clients. Having mentors, family and friends to support me and keeping God first definitely has helped me get where I am today. I have great nurses working at Drip Drop, which is hard to find now days. I think that was one of the biggest struggles, was finding nurses that were dependable and cared like I did.

We know clients by their name, get to know their stories, families, goals etc. I truly feel like I have the biggest family I have ever had in my life because all my clients just feel like family once they come in a few times, and we get to really know each other and have fun. We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe taking risks are the unknown, if you’re unwilling to find out, you will never know, if you knew everything was easy and simple then you wouldn’t have to take risks in life but how boring would that be haha. Taking risks can make you uncomfortable but without taking the risks you can’t pursue success. I took a leap of faith is what I like to say. The entire business was a risk 🙂 haha. I believe that without taking risk or being willing to adjust to the client’s needs a business will stay stagnant or close. As a business owner a lot of decision making is done by weighing your risks and I think if you never go for those scary or unknown things, you have the chance on missing out on something great! I also think taking risks & failing is a great way to learn and grow. It may not always feel that way in the moment but if you are willing to look back at it and take away what you can to continue to grow, I don’t see it as a failure in the end, I see it as a joyride with the one life I have to live.
