Community Highlights: Meet Luciana Salanitri of WSI Digital Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luciana Salanitri.

Luciana Salanitri

Hi Luciana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I’m from Argentina and have been married for 25 years, with three kids: two teenage daughters born back home and a young son born in Miami. My career started in Hospitality Management, where I spent 22 years working in luxury hotels in Argentina and Miami. In 2015, we decided it was time for a family adventure, to live in a new place, learn about different cultures, give our kids new experiences, and step out of our comfort zone. We chose Miami because of its big Hispanic community and excellent hotels. I worked in two unique properties in South Beach as Director of Revenue Management. Then, in 2020, just before the pandemic hit, we had our third child. Around that time, we were already thinking about moving again, and I was considering starting my own business. When the hotel I worked at had to close due to the pandemic, we saw it as our chance to make a move. We chose Charlotte, North Carolina, as our new home. I love it here! That’s when I started my own Digital Marketing company.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes, there were some challenges. With 22 years of experience in large corporations, venturing on my own for the first time was difficult. Realizing the difficulty in scaling my business as desired was a turning point. It was then I knew a significant change was necessary. That’s when I decided to join WSI.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My company operates as a local office of WSI Digital Marketing, independently owned and managed. When I decided to grow my small company, I researched all my options, and that’s how I found WSI. I realized that we had values in common; we shared the same reason. Why do we do what we do? We all work because we need to generate income, but we could do many other things that generate revenue. However, we chose this path. The why is that we want to impact our client’s businesses, and by doing so, we unlock hidden potential that helps those business owners achieve their personal goals (enjoy time with their families, build a legacy, time for their hobbies, traveling). Our mission statement is ‘Unlocking a world of possibilities for those we serve.’ And I genuinely believe that.

What sets our company apart is a combination of three characteristics that can’t be found in any other business: First, our consultant-led approach. Every business is different, and we work closely with our clients to understand their needs, goals, and products/services before we put a recommended solution together. We aren’t a cookie-cutter solution provider; each business is unique, and every strategy we create and deliver is specific to the client. We are more than just a product; we are a trusted advisor and a partner.

Secondly, our unique collaboration network members come from all corners of the globe, with different backgrounds and experiences, united by our passion for digital marketing and commitment to helping businesses grow. I’m not alone! The WSI Home Office, local agency owners, team members, partners, and suppliers work together to deliver outstanding results for our clients. And because we’re such an extensive network, we can share knowledge and ideas effortlessly. We understand the nuances of every market, vertical, and tactic. We’re constantly learning from each other and pushing each other to improve. We achieve incredible things—together.

Lastly, our 29 years of global experience, support, and stability mean we were here before Google or Facebook! When a business works with us, it gets the best of both worlds: it partners with a company that has supported more than 100,000 clients in multiple industries and locations worldwide for over 29 years but deals with a local consultant who is like its Marketing Director. That’s how I feel: a Fractional CMO for companies that can only hire a part-time CMO.

Are any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I love reading. Until I started working in my own company, I always read fiction. Now, I dedicate my time to reading business books. A must-read for any business owner in any industry is ‘StoryBrand’ by Donald Miller. We all need to create a story to engage the customer, where they become the hero, and we become their guide. Donald Miller explains this in a crystal-clear way. And, of course, I can’t recommend ‘Digital Minds’ enough, as some of WSI’s most experienced thought leaders walk you through the 12 critical components of an effective digital strategy. It’s essential for any business owner who wants to generate more leads and sales, expand their brand awareness, build a loyal customer base, and, essentially, grow their company.
