Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Brady.
Hi Morgan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always loved all things wedding, particularly wedding dresses. I dreamed of having my own bridal shop for many years, but it was always a thought for further down the road. In August of 2023, something started to stir in me and it felt like this was the time. In September, I started searching for a location and researching designers I would like to carry. By December of 2023, I had signed a lease and had dresses showing up on my porch! Glory House Bridal was open in mid January 2024. I am also a mom to two young kids, so it was important to me to only be open by appointment. That has been great, because it allows me to be very intentional with my brides, but also stay home with my children as much as possible. It’s been an exciting journey so far. It’s extremely special to be a part of a bride’s big day. Getting to know each of my brides is truly the best part.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the hardest parts of starting any business is just getting the word out. Word of mouth is the best kind of marketing, but it also takes time. As my reviews and referrals have increased it’s been exciting to watch the business grow, but it was definitely hard in the beginning having invested so much time and money into something and then it not taking off quite as quickly as you hoped it would. Nowadays, many of my appointments are with brides who were referred to me by my past brides which is really sweet.
An unexpected challenge I ran into was finding suppliers that aligned with my own customer service standards. I currently work with incredible designers that are dedicated to providing exceptional care to each brides’ dress, but it was a bit of process to find those designers that I could trust. Being a growing small business, each customer’s experience is extremely important to me, so having designers that will support and understand that goal is crucial to me.
The bridal industry is a beautiful and joyful business, but there are a lot of little things that go on behind the scenes to ensure the bride has that beautiful moment she’d always dreamed about. The emotional element of wedding planning can definitely add a sense of pressure that is unique to serving brides and why I’m so passionate about delivering a personal experience.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Glory House Bridal is an appointment-only bridal boutique that specializes in giving each bride a personal and private dress shopping experience. I only host one bride in the store at a time, so they can relax and truly soak in the moment with their friends and family. I seek to provide a peaceful and comfortable environment and a curated collection of gowns full of various styles, silhouettes, and customizable options to keep the process fun and celebratory without being overwhelming.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I recently decided I wanted to learn how to play an instrument, so I’ve been taking guitar lessons which is something most people don’t know about me. It’s been fun to learn and to have a new hobby.
As far as Glory House, most people don’t know that I have a selection of off the rack gowns for brides on a quick timeline. I love to be able to help these brides find their dress and be able to leave with it that day!
