Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxanna Wilson.
Hi Roxanna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Royalty Solutions, LLC was born out of my desire to live a life of financial freedom. I wanted to be in a position where I could follow my dreams and make my money work for me – instead of me working for it. But I quickly learned that working a 9 to 5 and trying to climb the ladder in corporate America just wasn’t what I wanted to do. So I began learning how to develop multiple streams of income where I could leverage my assets and debts, and now I teach others how to do the same.
I grew up in Kinston, NC, a small rural town in Eastern North Carolina. And back then, there wasn’t much opportunity there. It was a big deal to even graduate high school. But I always knew I was made for more, and I was determined to make it happen. And I knew I wasn’t going to find it rolling burritos at Taco Bell. I had to look for other ways to achieve what I wanted.
Even when I was a kid, I was ambitious and always looking for ways to make money. At that time, I was really into fashion – I had aspirations of being a clothes designer – and so I wanted to dress well and buy the clothes I wanted. So, I started looking for ways to earn money to do it. That led me into one of my first forays into entrepreneurship where I would buy candy at the market and then selling it at school at a markup to generate profit. Then, I’d take that profit and buy more candy to sell. That’s when I began learning how to leverage the resources I already had to get where I wanted to be.
I continued to foster that ambition and moved to Raleigh just after high school, taking on modeling gigs and working at telemarketing jobs (that I hated) in order to make a life there. My parents thought I was crazy for leaving for the big city, but I had a vision for my life I wanted to pursue.
Eventually I landed a job in corporate America, where I started refining my business skills. But I was often passed over for promotions because I just didn’t fit the mold. My colleagues misunderstood me and thought that I didn’t talk the way they thought I should or act the way they thought I should. I was met with a lot of judgment. And it was discouraging.
But, then I realized I was struggling there because it wasn’t my calling. I didn’t fit because it’s not where I belonged.
So I took a look at what my strengths were – I already knew how to leverage my resources, and I dove into building multiple streams of income to replace that 9 to 5 salary.
At 21, I bought my first house (even though I knew nothing about real estate). That year, I learned as much as I could about real estate from my mentor, and at 22, I bought my first investment home. Now, I own 34 homes, including an entire city block in Kinston, plus a fleet of rental cars. I’ve take the knowledge I’ve gained over the last 15 years, and developed courses and mentorship programs to help others learn how to build their credit and make their money work for them through different avenues of income. Now, my money, which I’ve strategically invested, works for me while I sleep.
Of course, it didn’t happen overnight – it took a lot of learning from mentors and investing in my business and myself to develop my business. It was one step at a time – buying a house here, a car there, and then finding ways to leverage that debt to build more wealth. And I’ve learned a lot. Now, through Royalty Solutions, LLC, I’m helping others find their path to financial freedom as well.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was that I grew up in a small rural town that didn’t offer a lot of opportunities past high school. So, when I graduated, I was determined to do whatever it took so I would not have to go back to my hometown. I didn’t grow up poor, but I also didn’t have wealth handed to me either. I had to create my own wealth and find my own way to success.
When I picked up everything and moved to Raleigh when I was 19, I didn’t really have a plan. I just knew I was following my vision to be a higher version of myself. I even lied to my friends and told them I had a job lined up and just hoped that everything would fall into place.
The challenges were there, but so were the opportunities.
When I worked in corporate, I showed up every day from 9 to 5 and worked hard, but I just didn’t find the success I was looking for. I wasn’t as polished as some of my colleagues, and that affected my growth in that field. I knew I was smart and capable, and that I learned quickly, but because I didn’t fit the part, the mold – whether it was because of the way I talked or how I approached things – I didn’t rise in that field.
We’ve been impressed with Royalty Builders, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Through Royalty Builders, LLC, I’m teaching my clients how to develop lasting and generational wealth. I’m helping them identify and leverage their assets so that their money is working for them – and not the other way around. With a focus on developing multiple streams of income, I teach my students that the way to lasting wealth is through investing – in your business and yourself.
My classes, programs, and mentorship program offer a step-by-step roadmap to building better credit and learning how to use what you already have to make more – no matter what your current financial situation is. I provide the blueprint you need to get started in real estate investing and debt elimination while creating a residual income outside of a 9 to 5 job. And I teach how to leverage other people’s money to build your investment portfolio.
The people who partner with me get the benefit of my 15 years of experience in this space. I give them access to the pathways I’ve created, the knowledge I’ve gained from my own experiences buying and selling properties, and the thousands of dollars and years I’ve spent learning from my own mentors. It’s turnkey. They don’t have to go out and experiment and see what sticks – or take on risky investments. They just get to follow a clearly marked road to successful investing.
By helping people achieve financial freedom, I’m showing them how to become a higher version of themselves so that they can live their best life. My main message is this: It doesn’t matter where you come from – you have the ability to take control of your life and finances.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting?
My best advice for those just starting out is to just start.
Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do it or discourage you – they aren’t you and they don’t have your vision. And you already have everything you need to be successful.
Even if you don’t have a lot of money, you can have what you need to start building long-lasting wealth for you and your family. There’s a misconception that you need a lot of money to get started in investing, but that’s just not true. You really don’t have to have anything to get started – you just need to have the knowledge.
I was naive when I started out in real estate, but having strong mentorship relationships has helped me buil my understanding of how to leverage my resources and invest in myself and my business goals. And it saved me a lot of time. I was able to stand on the shoulders of people who had already done the work and follow their proven blueprints to success. So, don’t try to reinvent the wheel – find someone who is successful and follow their advice to the letter. You’ll get where you want to go faster that way. This is what I’ve done with the Royalty Vault – I’ve taken all the knowledge and successes and failures I’ve learned along the way and made it accessible for my students, so they can skip some of the struggle and step into their own financial freedom.
You also just need to understand that every step you take is a step forward – even if it doesn’t always feel like it. I went through a series of jobs that weren’t necessarily what I wanted to be doing, but they were the stepping stones that got me to where I needed to be. I was able to learn from each of them and they all led me to something better along the way. So don’t give up, even if you aren’t where you want to be. Just use it to get to the next place.
