Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Spradlin
Hi Stacy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
How did Whimsy Little Teepee Co come into existence? Well, in 2019, a few months before my stepdaughter’s 8th birthday, I started trying to coordinate her party. I soon realized that our weekend days were already full and had the thought that a sleepover would be the perfect solution. Being the event planner that I am, I began searching for ways to take this sleepover to the next level and came across an image of a teepee sleepover set up. After doing some research I learned that this is a trend that had been growing rapidly in popularity around the UK and was just starting to pop up in the US. It was such a fun, unique and versatile party concept that I wanted to make it available to everyone.
I created and ran WLTC for just under five years in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. I have recently relocated to the Raleigh area where I am continuing to grow this fun, fulfilling business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was a slow start. It took a little time to figure out the right price point, and to get the word out about the business. Once the parties started, though, word traveled pretty quick.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I design and setup luxury sleepover parties for children. This business has been such a creative outlet for me. I love searching the internet and stores to find the perfect pieces that coordinate and bring the themes to life. I am always so proud of the outcome once the setup is done. There is always a level of excitement from the parents and kids that makes me feel proud of what I have accomplished.
I believe what sets me apart is my attention to detail and my design style. We hand build all of our tents and only use high quality items for our themes. From ironing tent covers to making sure garlands are perfectly spaced, every detail is taken into account for each party.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
What has worked best for me is building relationships with other small businesses that relate to my business. Such as balloon stylists, bakers, full-service party planners, etc. These are the businesses that work with the same clientele as I do, and can recommend my business to their clients, and I can do the same for them.

- $200 is the base starting price for a two person, DIY party
- $50 for each additional DIY setup.
- $310 is the base starting price for a two person Full-Service party
- $65 for each additional Full-Service setup.
