Hi Zentavia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a love for beauty since I could remember. I tried starting my own YouTube channel when I was in high school and became an aspiring makeup artist, but that didn’t last long. When I moved to NC in 2015, I had the opportunity to go to school for makeup and instead, fell in love with skincare. I fell in love with facials and the information I was learning and started a skincare business in 2020. I realized my passion wasn’t limited to just makeup and skincare. I wanted to help young women like me live confidently in their own skin. I knew I wanted to dominate the beauty industry, and that’s how it started.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been easy at all. The process of becoming an entrepreneur and business owner is not for the faint in heart. Consistency has been a big challenge for me when I started Zen Esthetics. I believe as an entrepreneur you can doubt your own ability and added to that, the pressure of learning to market yourself and the back end of business can cause you to question if it’s worth it. Those have been my current struggles this far but I’m taking it one day at a time.

We specialize in facials but we also offer waxing, makeup services and virtual consultations and classes. We travel for retreats, spa parties, girl outings, and more.
What sets us apart is that we are not your average skincare spa. We specialize in results. Each person is guaranteed to leave our spa with radiant skin and increased confidence.
Our mission has always been to provide quality skin care services and advice to women all over to help enhance their confidence so that natural skin is a priority and makeup becomes an option.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I remember sneaking in my mom’s makeup bag and pretending I was going out with friends to practice my makeup application. I would use my siblings as fake clients and do their makeup until I became confident enough to do it as a hobby on the side.
