Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisa Hayes.
Hi Alisa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My photography journey began when I was 15 years old. I took a beginner’s photography class in high school and loved every minute of it! At the time, I was going through some health battles with my kidney and needed to have a kidney transplant.
After completing my photography class that semester, I knew I had to get a digital camera of my own. Not long after, my parents surprised me with my 1st DSLR camera as a Christmas present. Not too long after getting my camera, I received my 1st kidney transplant. That camera was the best thing ever and really kept me in good spirits as I was healing and beginning a new way of life.
Over time, I picked up and put down that camera until I got into college and I haven’t put it down since. During college, I was focused on just learning my camera and taking photos of the things around me. After graduating from college at the Queen’s University of Charlotte, I started focusing more on capturing beautiful images of people.
I definitely enjoy capturing the beauty within and all around you.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but that’s okay. I see the failed photoshoots or the ones I didn’t feel were my best as lessons to be learned. It just made me focus even more on perfecting my craft.
I’ve been patient and dedicated time to learning as much as possible. Photography is one of my passions and when you know your passion, you know it will take hard work.
There’s nothing wrong with a little hard work. I work hard now so that I can enjoy life & relax sooner than later!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Aside from photography, I am a childcare professional. At the moment, I am nannying for a family of 3 beautiful children. I absolutely love kids and they love me right back! I know part of my purpose is being in children’s lives and inspiring them to have fun and be their best selves.
Professionally, I’ve been taking care of children since 2013, but really I’ve always loved kids. Even as a child myself, I was always the one asking to hold or play with any baby around. I’ve worked in Sunday schools, preschools, and plenty of homes around North Carolina.
I am very blessed and grateful for the experiences I’ve had with the many children I’ve encountered. It always touches my heart when I’m ambushed by little hugs or meeting new kids who tell me I”m the best! Children are very honest, so I never take those moments lightly.
As adults, we can learn so much from children if we just listen and they can also learn so much from us with a little patience.
We need children in our lives because they keep the inner child in us alive! I know I’ve made an impact on many little lives and plan to do so much more in the near future! I will be opening up a drop-in childcare center very soon and it will be a child paradise! Children will be loved, safe, and inspired and parents will feel comfortable and happy to drop off their kids without a worry in the world!
So remember the name HoneyDip Kids!
Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risk-taking is very important when it comes to striving for your goals and dreams.
When you don’t take risks, you are loudly saying you don’t believe in yourself or your vision. You are also loudly saying you have little faith. You must have more faith in your vision, or no one else will trust in it.
Loudly proclaim your faith by taking as many risks as you see fit in order to fulfill your vision! You can do it! I believe in myself and I believe in you too!
