Conversations with Alysha Whitfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alysha Whitfield.

Hi Alysha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My story started when I was little; maybe 5 years old. I grew up in rural Wisconsin with fond memories of riding my bike down the road to the “rock pile”. This old construction dirt site had mountains of rocks. (I’m not kidding, the piles were as big as a two-story house!) I spent hours digging through them to find the prettiest quartz stones and the most unusual fossils. I saved the best ones in my Quaker Oats container; which I still have today!

These pretty rocks and fossils paved the path for my interest in gemstones and jewelry. Fast forward 20 years – I started creating jewelry by wire wrapping interesting gemstones as gifts. This led to meeting a local jeweler who introduced me to metalsmithing.

Now, 12 years later, I work alongside some of the best jewelers in the industry to produce heirloom quality jewelry that can live on for decades. There’s no limit to what we can achieve. I’ve spent the last decade perfecting my craft and learning multiple production methods to create the custom jewelry you desire.

I have the ability to hand fabricate jewelry at my bench if you’re seeking a truly handmade piece or I can design your jewelry using my sophisticated computer software when precision, detail, and predictability are the top priorities.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There have been little bumps in the road but what small business doesn’t encounter a few struggles? I feel very fortunate for this, mostly, smooth journey. I attribute that to being on the correct life path. I feel deep down that I was called to do this work so I could be the channel between my clients and their forever piece of meaningful heirloom jewelry.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I create meaningful fine jewelry that celebrates your life’s story. From engagement rings and wedding bands to meaningful mother’s birthstone jewelry, I design jewelry that will tell your story for generations.

I work with clients all over the world – helping them choose the perfect design, gemstone, and metal type. We work together virtually to determine the perfect ring size (when creating a ring) and craft every single ring and charm to order, just for them.

Custom jewelry is one of my specialties and what I am most known for. When my clients want an exclusive piece of bespoke jewelry, we work together, sharing stories, pictures, and inspirations to create a one-of-a-kind treasured heirloom that celebrates their unique love and life.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I would not be where I am without my clients, my mentors, and my team. I am so thankful for my collectors who continue to support me throughout the years. They are my muse, the reason I am so fortunate to create jewelry every day, and the inspiration behind every single piece of work I create.
