Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Hernandez.

Ana Hernandez

Hi Ana, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I moved from Venezuela in 2014, And when I got here, I had to start from scratch, friends, places to go, and even where to do my eyebrows (lol, but for real).

Moving to a new country sometimes is hard because you’re a stranger, but this fact made me want to explore everything I was able to; never say no, because you’re never sure what new experience you might be skipping.

So, I started to check what’s around me, where people go and do for fun, lifestyles, trends, and a little bit of everything that would help me to understand this new place I get to call home.

My curiosity for the culture and the diversity that you can find around make me eager to just wander and get submerged in different activities and groups. Until I find myself, my likes, and places that I can recommend because they are my favorites.

At some point, my coworkers, family, and friends visiting started asking me for recommendations or if I’d be their tour guide. And then the why not came around and started to share it just for fun. And here we are, and I love it so much.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t. I didn’t know anybody when I started. So, in a lot of places I’ll drag a friend or two until little by little, and was brave enough to go to some places on my own, and then of course meet people that I can call friends now.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

My job has nothing to do with what I post.

I’ve been working in the same company for almost 7 years, a lot of numbers and spreadsheets, very different.

And I think that’s what makes me love to Check the Corner because every time I have to post or I have to visit a place to create content is a scape to wonderful things.

What does success mean to you?

To me, success is doing what you love and being able to share it with friends and family.

That feeling of satisfaction from doing what makes you happy that’s success.
