Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio Bailey.
Hi Antonio, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I initially started photography to document my puppy’s life in 2016. After my time in the service, I gained an interest in capturing the beauty in people. I now attend UNCG where I study photography.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has and it hasn’t been a smooth road. I would say that it has been very smooth with finding new friends in the community and more people to create with. A tough path was the acceptance of my new career with my direct family.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Like everyone, I began my journey with digital.
My first camera was a Nikon d7100 and I later moved to a full-frame camera. however, since 2020, I have explored the world of film and I’m absolutely in love. I love creating concepts that reside in the era of romanticism, so a lot of my work resembles love, passion, and religion.
I’m most proud of the friends I met along the way. Without my friends in the community and the support they’ve given me, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Never be afraid to revisit an idea, or recapture a concept. If at first, the photoshoot you did wasn’t as strong as you wanted, it’s okay to re-do it. Nothing should hold you back from perfecting your vision.
