Conversations with Bearded Villains Western NC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bearded Villains Western NC.

Hi Bearded Villains, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Bearded Villains as a whole is an international beard club dedicated to the betterment of mankind through charity, loyalty, family, and respect. There are chapters all over the world with thousands of bearded men dedicated to the club. Western North Carolina planted its roots in 2016 after the 3 way split of a larger North Carolina chapter. From there we have grown and continued our efforts with local charities including Baptist Children’s Homes of NC, Black Mountain Children’s Home, the Adopt A Highway program, The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, The Educator Warehouse, Piedmont Animal Farm refuge, the SPCA, Habitat For Humanity, and various small charity projects across the western part of the state.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the grand scheme of things it has been pretty smooth. Of course every organization has its ups and downs, but we’ve continued to work hard and succeed at achieving our goals

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Bearded Villains Western NC is known for our work efforts across the state. We have also held beard competitions to raise money for charities including Baptist Children’s Homes and Black Mountain Children’s Home.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The hope is that BV Western NC will continue to grow and work with various local charities throughout the state for the foreseeable future. We have partnered up with the non profit Carolina Villains to help achieve those goals.
